Exceptionally disturbing stats regarding Americans' embrace of creationism:

Well I just ruined my new computer...because I just vomited all over it!  I am truly disgusted by those results.

on a related survey note, i Heard that polling is at an all time high for acceptance of inter-racial couples.

80% today versus 48% twenty years ago.

^But only if the couple is Adam and Eve.

Did it have anything on inter-species couples ?

'Adam' video pulled by Genesis museum

From staff and wire reports | CINCINNATI POST

June 8, 2007

PETERSBURG - The man picked as Adam by the new Northern Kentucky museum based on the Bible's version of Earth's history led quite a different life outside the Garden of Eden, owning the domain name for a sexually explicit Web site and modeling for a line of clothing with an explicit mascot.

Registration records show that Eric Linden, who portrays Adam taking his first breath in a film at the newly opened Creation Museum in Petersburg, Ky., owns a graphic Web site called Bedroom Acrobat. He has been pictured there, smiling alongside a drag queen, in a T-shirt brandishing the site's sexually suggestive logo.

...

typical liberal......

From http://www.bedroomacrobat.com/

Just a quick FYI while the team here gets ready to launch the all new site:

Eric Linden is not affilated with the content of this site in ANY way... and we wish him the best of luck!

We are here as a comical, silly and extremist view of sex as a whole, not a porn site!! Relax and laugh a little...

And if you are not a Bedroom Acrobat, that is you and your significant others problem, not mine!

Thanks and check back soon,

Museum group sued by fellow creationists

MONEY AND 'ACTING IN AN UNBIBLICAL FASHION' AT THE ROOT

By Andy Mead

[email protected]

There is trouble in paradise, with a fight of biblical proportions raging between a Kentucky-based creationist group and the Australian group from which it sprang.

Three days after the Memorial Day opening of Answers in Genesis' $27 million Creation Museum in Northern Kentucky, a group called Creation Ministries International filed suit in the Supreme Court of Queensland.

'Museum' blurs fact, faith, fiction

Connie Schultz

Plain Dealer Columnist

Were it not for the folks who raised me, it would be easy to make fun of the new Creation Museum.

For one thing, this is not a museum, it is a $27 million theme park built in Petersburg, Ky., just across the river from Cincinnati. The chief designer is Patrick Marsh, the creative force behind the "Jaws" and "King Kong" attractions at Universal Studios in Florida. One of the first things you see are dinosaurs nibbling at treetops, just down the hall from mechanical, life-size humans meant to illustrate how T. rex and Man were happy neighbors on Planet Earth.

Museum nears 100K visitors

BY BRENNA KELLY | CINCINNATI ENQUIRER

July 20, 2007

PETERSBURG – The parking lot is filled by 10 a.m. The line stretches out of the door. Inside hundreds more wait to tour the Creation Museum.

Today, less than two months after it opened, the Creation Museum expects to top 100,000 visitors.

Officials had previously said they hoped for at least 250,000 visitors in the first year.

...

If You Go

Boone County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Answers in Genesis request for more parking, another entrance and outdoor activities at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 15 in the first floor fiscal courtroom at 2950 Washington St.

Im not surprised. It's pretty much hilarious that this place even exists. I'd go and bring my friends too...for a laugh.

To help the flow of traffic, the museum also wants another entrance into the property. The proposed entrance on Deck Lane would be for trucks making deliveries, garbage trucks and staff...

So are the garbage trucks delivering the staff or the content or both?

By the way, I just saw "Jesus Camp."

Mankind no longer deserves top dog status.

This is a classic from a recent dining review by CityBeat:

Hebron's Fusion Martini Bar and Grill is a friendly, upscale neighborhood place that's got just what you need after an afternoon visit to the nearby Creation Museum -- a hearty selection of stiff drinks. Even a martini purist can get a serious cocktail here if you can get past the clever name: We All Die Young ($7). What that has to do with gin and vermouth, I'm not quite sure. And it wasn't totally serious -- the olives were stuffed with cheese -- but my genuine gin-drinking guest liked it.

It finishes the article with...

The acoustics are good at Fusion, considering the broad marble floor and no soundproofing anywhere. There's a huge bar area and a nice outdoor patio that was in use during our visit. According to the staff, there's a half-hour wait for a table on weekend nights without a reservation.

That's what a population boom will do for you! Ask Adam and Eve -- they're right up the road.

I LOVE CITY BEAT!

Museum worries neighbors

Expansion plans met with resistance

BY BRENNA R. KELLY | CINCINNATI ENQUIRER

August 16, 2007

PETERSBURG - Neighbors of the Creation Museum are leery about Answers in Genesis' new plans for the 47-acre site.

Because of higher-than-expected attendance, the ministry wants to more than double its parking spaces, add a covered outdoor area and an entrance for trucks on Deck Lane.

The group, which presents a literal interpretation of the Bible, including the theory that dinosaurs and man coexisted, has asked Boone County Planning Commission to allow the additions.

...

I guess this constitutes a new stage in the evolution of the creation museum.

sorry, couldn't help it.

"...and an entrance for trucks on Deck Lane."

No thanks. Truck drivers prefer the Adult's Den.

LMAO!

What kind of spin-off development do you get from a Creation Museum?

Ripley's Believe It Or Not.

The Creation Museum being the "or not" section.

What kind of spin-off development do you get from a Creation Museum?

Conventions ?

Better yet...here is a spin-off development idea.  KY is known for horse racing, but how about Unicorn racing right outside of the Creation Museum.  Seems like a perfect fit to me, and if the Unicorn racing really takes off then you can move on to Sasquatch hunting in the KY hillsides....or even Loch Ness fishing.

My daughter will love the Unicorn Museum for obvious reasons and my son can't wait to ride the dinosaurs at the Creation Museum.  What a great combination!

Unicorn polo could get pretty interesting.

Scientist calls Creation Museum plug 'inflammatory'

BY MIKE RUTLEDGE | [email protected]

PETERSBURG - The head of the Kentucky Paleontological Society is criticizing local tourism officials for promoting the Creation Museum using inflammatory language from the museum's Web site.

The Northern Kentucky Convention & Visitors Bureau on its Web site says of the controversial museum: "This 'walk through history' museum will counter evolutionary natural history museums that turn countless minds against Christ and Scripture."

FYI - There are brochures for the AIG Creation Museum on the front desk at the vistor center/gift shop at Big Bone Lick State Park; which seems odd to me as that park is developed around Paleontology.

It's Kentucky...you can check your logic at the door.

Museum parking lot concerns neighbors

BY BRENNA R. KELLY | CINCINNATI ENQUIRER

September 10, 2007

PETERSBURG - Answers in Genesis needs more time to address residents' concerns about the ministry's plans to enlarge its parking lot.

A Boone County Planning Commission committee was to discuss the issue last week, but delayed the meeting until 5 p.m. Sept. 19 at Answers in Genesis' request, said planner Kevin Wall.

At a public hearing last month, neighbors who live near the ministry's Creation Museum told commissioners about the many problems the museum and the crowds it draws have caused.

...

Time for some divine intervention.

Such a rowdy crowd...

At a public hearing last month, neighbors who live near the ministry's Creation Museum told commissioners about the many problems the museum and the crowds it draws have caused.

Neighbors said cars pull out of the entrance without stopping; lost motorists knock on peoples' doors; and trucks tear up nearby yards.

"...lost motorists knock on peoples' doors; and trucks tear up nearby yards."

Huh? How do trucks "tear up" yards? Are the roads in northern Kentucky not paved? :P

"...and an entrance for trucks on Deck Lane."

As I stated before, truckers would more than likely go to Adult's Den than to this museum.

lost motorists knock on peoples' doors

Come on, this is rural Kentucky.  What do you think shotguns are for?

Huge plant-eating dinosaur discovered

Posted 49m ago

By Michael Astor, Associated Press

RIO DE JANEIRO — The skeleton of what could be a new dinosaur species — a giant, Patagonian plant-eater — has been uncovered in Argentina. At more than 105 feet (32 meters), it is among the largest ever found, scientists said Monday.

Creation Museum surpasses expectations

By Chris Kenning, The (Louisville) Courier-Journal, USA Today, November 2, 2007

Each day near Petersburg, Ky., 1,500 to 4,000 visitors, including busloads from Christian schools and churches, stand in line for as long as an hour to wander 60,000 square feet of animatronic exhibits presenting the Bible's creation story as fact.

It's been six months since the Creation Museum opened to crowds and protests, and the controversial attraction has proven more popular than even organizers had predicted.

...

But critic Lawrence Krauss, head of the Center for Education and Research in Cosmology and Astrophysics at Case Western Reserve University, called the attraction's popularity "embarrassing."

I'm sorry, any man who writes \/this\/ book has no credibility whatsoever to me

(pope had him as a prof at CWRU)

can we just...delete this thread or something.  it just bothers me.

Uh-oh, it looks like they're going to have a lot of explaining to do . . .

Scientists said the giant herbivore walked the Earth some 88 million years ago.

I'll explain it for you.  One day in the bible equals 1,000 years, or some bs like that.  Thats the ONLY explanation that makes sense.

I agree.  We can ignore members but not threads.
