October 2, 200618 yr WTF....any shots of Flushing aren't complete without the LIE and the Van Wyck. Although those two walking by the Queens Museum of Art make up for the expwy. shots. That dude's hair looks like it is straight out of "Goodfellas".
October 2, 200618 yr ^ lol, geesh sorry i didn't cover every square inch of flushing meadows park! just to confuse people, fmp is quite large and sprawling with several sections. despite the name, the old world's fairground section seen above is really in corona not flushing & it's even known as corona park. i was nowhere near the lake/boathouse & the lie or vw, but hey if it helps i did walk across the grand central. there is only so much you can do on foot, esp as i wanted to walk all the way down roosevelt afterward (& given the terrible flat-bottomed sneaks i had on my feet still hurt). hang on you'll see those parts next when i can get them hosted.
October 3, 200618 yr ^ LOL, yeah, it's a bit spread out to say the least. I forgot the Van Wyck veers a bit to the east of FMP and the Grand Central rolls through there. That area is bottleneck freeway hell. Now any Jamaica pics w/o the Van Wyck, is like Paris w/o the Eiffel Tower. Got a question...do you know the name of that giant cemetery off the LIE where the Brooklyn/Queens Expwy. merges? That cemetery makes Arlington, VA seem spacious in comparison.
October 3, 200618 yr i think its calvary cemetery. the merge thats in long island city right? yeah thats a biggie. fyi there is i think a bigger one along the end of the jackie robinson and of course there is greenwood, the mac daddy of cemeteries in nyc & a destination in its own right -- i gotta do a thread on that one sometime for sure.
