October 3, 200618 yr Wow! I didn't know McArthur had a jacknife bridge just like the one in Cleveland! Good stuff, Summit Street! I'm glad you're back to posting pics of Ohio small towns.
October 3, 200618 yr Even though I don't visit Cleveland as much as I would like to, I would say the jackknife bridge is not in McArthur but a shot from Cleveland posted in error... Clevelander's correct me if I am wrong.
October 3, 200618 yr hhmmm...let's see... isn't it Elmo who sings: ..."one of these things is not like the others... one of these things just isn't the same...."

October 4, 200618 yr I was surprised to see that the "Oh in Ohio" movie is playing at their Athena Cinema.
October 4, 200618 yr Why? It's a college town, isn't it? "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
October 4, 200618 yr According to a professor at OU, the Athena used to run midnight porn in the 70's before it was bought by the university. Now this is the same professor who at the same BBQ invited everyone (a bunch of students) back to his hot tub, so as for that porn comment it may have been some clumsy attempt to direct the conversation in that direction. The thing about OU is that for every scandal you see there are 10 festering behind the drywall. The place has like 3-4 scandals per year that make the paper, with another dozen that simmer below the radar. It's a small town so people see things by accident and word gets around fast.
October 9, 200618 yr I went to McArthur once, when I was 7. That's when my family went to Lake Hope for a week and stopped at the grocery store in McArthur for supplies. McArthur is a few buildings surrounded by thousands of acres of nothing. I have no comments on Athens. Y'all know how I feel about my second home.
October 10, 200618 yr According to a professor at OU, the Athena used to run midnight porn in the 70's before it was bought by the university. ........ uhhhh...... I can vouch for that. (The Varsity ran them too, I think) :drunk: I ran thru McArthur many-a-times from Cincy to Athens. Never could find a reason to stop - 'cept for the flashing red light! ;) no... it was/is a nice little town.
October 10, 200618 yr Your little drunk guy reminds me of the good times drinking in The Athena, you had to wait for a loud part to open your can!
October 10, 200618 yr Stayed at a Bed N Breakfast in McArthur for a nite, whilst spending some time in Hocking Hills
October 11, 200618 yr Allow me to clarify my previous post. By "loud part" I meant the loud part of a regular movie. Heh.
