well... Lola was unloading new chairs and tables to their patio today at lunch.  Guess they finally gave in.

The planters that are laying on the ground will be on top of poles like you see in the other pictures. Additionally, there will be some flower sconces on a few buildings and some rectangular planters on the sidewalks.

 

Plans for the winter are also being developed so that E.4 doesn't look so barren after fall.

That last picture is probably best Representative of how it's going to look.  There will also be some wall sconces with flower planters installed in some areas (most notably the columns of the building where Blackfin will be.  There were some planters envisioned in between the "light posts" along the sidewalk as well, those may be tweaked a little.  A couple other recommendations were made during design review.  Regardless there is more to come.  Thanks for the pics Mayday, and I really can't wait for some of the colors to start coming out on these flowers, and with this weather i can't imagine it taking long.  :)

But man does that "Road Closed" sign bug me.  The road is not closed.  I might have to replace the sign in the dead of night with "Pedestrians Only Beyond this Point".

If you stand on Euclid you can see some units painted and appeared rather finished off.  Of course you can still see metal studs in the ones above pickwick in the above pictures, so some are obviously further along than others.

Most of them are in bloom now, but they are smaller blooms that aren't showing up in the pictures.  Overall I am happy with it, though some of the plant selections seem a little odd, like the prairie grass on the pole planters.

The "praire grass" is in a pre-flower stage.

 

I think that the winter themes will provide the most unique experience.

I saw that walking home last night and all I can say is, " HOLY FRICKING HOLY SATURDAY!"  For any of you who are Catholic or grew up Catholic, it looks like a church that exploded with flowers for Easter!  A very nice addition!  And the best thing is that the patios are full!  For some landscaping ideas, they might want to look at how overboard (in a good way) Chicago goes in flowers and such, coordinating with seasons/holidays.

incredible enhancement for this street. because of the streets narrowness, the greenery has much much more impact than the warehouse district's hanging planter project. i too am keenly interested in the winter themes as cleveland generally does not pay much attention to landscaping in the winter months.  i vote for more conifers & succulents!

 

i still think the best urban landscaping in all of cleveland, perhaps even greater cleveland, is at CSU

great pictures! thanks for taking them! that that sign really does need to go. it should be replaced with some sort of retractable decrotive concrete pillar that is activated via rfid or infared to retract for authorized vehicles or could be dropped permanently for all traffic during certain times. I could only imagine the implementation costs though.

Nice pictures.  I'm taking one of my nephews to E4 after tonight's ballgame (probably can't get in anywhere but it'll be neat just to hang out).  Does anyone know if the restaurants will let him inside or eat at the patios at night?

He can eat anywhere, unless it's physically at the bar.

Also, we don't have an "elevated" shot, to view the entire street, which would no doubt give the viewer a better scale picture.
