AMBERLEY VILLAGE - With its rolling hills and tall trees, the 133-acre tract at Ridge and Galbraith roads presents a scene of pastoral beauty and tranquility.

 

But for the past two years, the former Crest Hills Country Club has been a battleground.

"A lot of people here spent $1 million for their homes," he said. "They don't want anything that will depreciate the value."

 

Can have the value of their properties go below 1 million....that would be a state of emergency then.  Rich people cry too much.

^ LOL.  Those $500,000 homes on 1-acre lots are going to kill the value of that $1,000,000 home....

Amberley battles lawsuit to allow housing development

AMBERLEY VILLAGE - Amberley Village and the owner of the former Crest Hills Country Club are headed to trial over the zoning of the 133-acre property at Ridge and Galbraith roads.

 

With the trial scheduled on Sept. 12 before Hamilton County Common Pleas Judge Melba Marsh, attempts by both sides to reach a settlement have failed so far.

AMBERLEY VILLAGE - There isn't much on the long stretch of grassy land, sitting high above the Ronald Reagan Highway.

 

The 27-acre tract contains deteriorating tennis and basketball courts, the remnants of brick and cement floors from a demolished swim club, and Amberley Village maintenance facilities.

Amberley Village welcomes plan to lease building, study options

Amberley loses Crest Hills appeal

AMBERLEY VILLAGE – The 1st District Court of Appeals today sided with the Ridge Club in its dispute with Amberley Village over the proposed development of the former Crest Hills Country Club.

 

In its decision, the appeals court sided with a lower court ruling last year stating that Amberley illegally rejected the Ridge Club’s request to change the zoning of the 133-acre Crest Hills site to permit a residential development.

AMBERLEY VILLAGE – The Ohio Supreme Court today refused to hear Amberley Village’s appeal of a lower court ruling that Amberley illegally rejected a zoning request that would have permitted a housing development to be built on the site of the former Crest Hills Country Club.

 

The decision ends a long legal battle over the development of the 133-acre site at Ridge and Galbraith roads between Amberley and the Ridge Club, the site’s owner.

AMBERLEY VILLAGE - After an acrimonious four-year legal battle and countless hours of difficult negotiations, Amberley Village finally controls the fate of the former Crest Hills Country Club.

 

On Friday, the village closed on its $8.75 million purchase of the 133-acre site at Galbraith and Ridge roads from the Ridge Club.
