Posted October 16, 200618 yr our niece came to visit for the weekend from dayton. one day we went to rockefeller center. the "sky mirror" is a temporary sculpture in rock center by the guy who made the dome thing in the new millenium park in chicago. its 35ft across and weighs 23 freakin tons. here is a link w/ some more info about it: http://www.tumi.com/SkyMirror/AboutSkyMirror/ "top of the rock" is the old deco era viewing area on the top of rock center. it was recently reopened this summer after being closed up for many years. there is info about it on the site above. great views -- there are two levels to view from. you can stick your camera out between slots in the glass for clear shots, but it is super windy. nice view of radio city from just inside so anyone here like buildings? i sure hope so, i got a lot of pics ***i hope you enjoyed your trip to the top of the rock!***
October 17, 200618 yr ^ and did not even whip out even your cell phone camera once? tsk. tsk. i noticed the westerly/nj side views were more blurry as it was so way much more windy on that side.
October 17, 200618 yr I was up there in the 80s, I think. I don't recall that it was surrounded by glass then. Spectacular views!

I worked at 75 Rock Center and 1271 Sixth Avenue, until moving to Columbus Circle and I never thought about it, when there or at the Rainbow Room.
October 17, 200618 yr Very cool! Thanks for all that posting. To state the obvious, you are quite the shutterbug (much to our benefit).
October 17, 200618 yr NYC is soooo sexy.....everytime I see pics of NYC it makes me want to pack up and move there!!!! But then I realize that I'm broke as a joke and would not make it more than a month (with my current revenue). Damn
