Hi folks, cle2032 had a great idea for a get-together for those of us who will be in Cleveland during the holidays.

Of course, the question is - who is interested and what dates/times will work? I think maybe a central location (easily accessed by transit in December) will be ideal, maybe Old Angle or GLBC?  If you think you'll be in the area and are interested, let me know what days might work. December 23rd falls on a Saturday, so maybe that would be an option? Thanks!

I'd tentatively put myself down to attend, it would be awesome to meet all of you face to face.  It will be difficult to get away, since I know I'll have a ton of family in and family "duties" that go along with that.    Also, there is the possibility i'll have three kids, a 12, a 10 & a 9 y/o, with me.

Fantastic idea.  I'm game, especially if we go to GLBC!

sound fun, I'm in. "Mr" peabody99 got spooked at the last meet ...but hopefully won't be an issue this time around.  I think GLBC sounds great. nicely lit up around the holidays and they should still have the Christmas Ale .

I am tentatively in. But only if we can have a brief discussion about a Day of Service in early spring ... over Christmas Ale, of course.

I'll see what I can do.

Currently I lean towards the Friday Before, the 22nd, because I'll probably be leaving tow on the following Saturday. But don't let that stop you alls.

I see how it is...a "Holiday get-together," an explicit attack on Christmas and the religious right! If Cincy was having one, it would sure be a Christmas get-together.

;)

Careful, or I'll show you a new meaning for the term "stocking stuffer"!

(looks around the room)  :-o

I'm in.

Maybe "little musky" will come again.

I choose anytime after the 15th.

Finals will be complete.

I'm up for any date after the 16th-ish.

Same thing I told ColDay concerning a Columbus meet.

The closer to Christmas the event, the more likely I can RSVP (though weather would be a larger factor for me showing up in Cleveland compared to Columbus)

I'm game. Just tell me when and where.

This might work for me.  I've been wanting to visit Cleveland for a while now.  Since I don't live nearby it'd have to be earlier in the day and the date shouldn't matter too much since I can usually get any day of work that I want.

Depending on the date, I'd be up for it. But I first have to tend to an army of Tennesseeans, Texans and Wisconsonians that are coming in for the holidays (all are non-expats, so I'll have to be a good tour guide).

I would be interested.  Usually in from D.C. by the 23rd or late 22nd.  Ohio City or downtown would be great!

GLBC?  Shoot, that's all you had to say!

Also, don't forget that the 2nd year of Emerging Cleveland tours will be around this time.  If you think you could learn a thing or two about Cleveland by signing up (I can pretty much guarantee that you will!), check 'em out at www.emergingcleveland.com or at the UO thread on the subject: http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php?topic=6309.30

^lunch would be good for me,  (bragging) I've got front row seats to the Orchestra's Christmas concert on the night of the 23rd. OK, front row in the balcony, but still..

I'm hearing that the 23rd might work for most - would a lunch-time meet work better for everyone? I know a lot of people have family gatherings and evening parties so give me some feedback about a lunch outing :)

Late Lunch?

1 or 1:30 PM for me

front row balcony is usually the best in my opinion!

Sounds like you're going to have your hands full with lots of family members. So bring them all to the UO get-together so that we can match their interests to forumers' touring specialties!

i see your lushes and raise you the dipsomaniacs.

I guess that could be a good thing and then this can be cross posted in the "cleveland on tv/movies" thread

I'm in for sure if I am in town on the 23rd....haven't made any plans yet.

Hey, I'm surprised the holiday get-together isn't timed with MayDay's book signing at the Arcade. I saw the sign at the store, but didn't have anything to write with or on, but I think it's on Dec. 7. Don't know the time of it, though. MayDay?

Put me down as a 'yes' to attend.

I'm all in!!!

I'm all in!!!

I'm not even gonna touch that one

I might be able to come, depends on what's going on with family activities.

i'll make an appearance, but it will be in-and-out, the family beckons in detroit that evening.

It would be great to do lunch or mid-afternoon get together on the 23rd.  Let me know the final where and when.

Well folks - I guess we have enough people interested so it'll definitely be:

At Great Lakes Brewing Company

http://www.greatlakesbrewing.com

1:00pm on Saturday, December 23rd

I don't believe they take reservations for larger groups so we'll probably just try to grab a table or two - no big whoop. If you only have time to grab a drink or make a brief appearance, that's fine. This is a "more the merrier" event, so if you want to bring spouses, friends, offspring, etc., they're all welcome. Just be sure to explain that well, us forumers can be a little odd ;-)

How late do you guys think you'll be there?  I have to work until 2:00.

^LOL..if it starts at 1pm...then I know I will be there till after 2!  I'll just be warming up!  side note Oompa...I think we have a mutual acquaintance...somebody you sang with at P&F of Latina heritage...haven't talked in a while though.  See you at the gathering!

That's OK, I've never met a "normal" person in my life!

I have met plenty of these people however (and I'm in there somewhere too).......

:strong:  :behind: :jo: :banger:  :-P  :? :ass: :weird: :finger: :bang2: :speech: :cool2:   :shoot: :whip: :drunk: :finger2:

not only am I normal, I'm also the coolest forumer.

Mary?

^ Yes...but didn't want to drop names on here.

Thanks MayDay.....even though I now feel like the student in :-D the front of the class with his zipper down!!!

I'll be there, but since I have to go to work, it'll be a two drink limit for me.

I have to head to Columbiana County, so I'll be in the same boat, X.

Thanks MayDay.....even though I now feel like the student in the front of the class with his zipper down!!! "

Hey, it takes time to figure out the forum functions and I'm just trying to be helpful. That zipper thing, though - you're on your own!!!

That's about one or two more than me.

(As I'll be bouncing between Marengo, Cleveland, and Columbus that day)
