I got about 125-150 in Clifton (Cincinnnati)

We got 11 or 12 total here in Walnut Hills, but I'm on top of a hill, lots of steps...

Did kids actually walk past your house, versus clime the 26 steps?

Don't know - I was cooking dinner, just came to the door when kids knocked...just three sets total...

We got around 100-120 here in suburban hell (Green Twp) :|

2 groups

5 kids total in scenic Northside (Cinci)

I have about 8 steps & people frequently won't walk up them.

Probably about 75....then I stopped answering the door when some jack-o-asshole(s) stole my (and four of my neighbors) pumpkins.

These are the pumpkins you were going to throw out in the next couple of days, right ?

I thought you were supposed to steal the things.

Anyway, they might be in Colorado.

So you punish the kids because of some idiot?!?!?

I got about 75 kids in Ohio City. I think that's pretty good given that we are on the edge that overlooks the lake.

Na the older, actually the kids that are TOO OLD to be ringing door bells at this point.  I'm sure the folks going to or coming from the parade stole our pumpkins.  Besides, we made an X Rated Flasher Pumpkin as a replacement...which I'm sure is gone by now.

If I really wanted to punish the kids, I would have directed them to the shady evil queen who lives on Madison Ave....He is so mean, he makes Andrea Yates look like a Mother of the Year candidate!!!

A grand total of two kids here in Gahanna, and they were walking together.  Not too surprising since most of the kids in my neighborhood are now grown up and the weather was crappy, but it's still pretty lame.

Those little bastards tried to knock on MY door.  MY door!  The audacity!  DO THEY READ MY AVATAR?!?!?

0- because I was at work the whole night.

You ate them...didn't you.

Zero.  I am not kidding.  Zero.

Zero.  I am not kidding.  Zero.

I can beat that.  Zero for the last 18 years (3 in Baton Rouge, 2 in Clintonville, 13 years in the Ashley/Kilbourne/Marengo neverworld)

No they didn't.  I thought MayDay put up a firewall so that anyone under the age of 12 couldn't read the forum here.

I had about 15...three of them are still in my "secret room".... :drunk:

I win! kids like me the best.

None.  :(  But I live in a condo downtown, so I didn't expect any.

Between 150 and 200 (Clintonville area of Columbus)....

Oh...I should add that I live next to a cemetery.  Shouldn't that have attracted more people?  Like the fifteen-year-old kids who usually came by every year, without costumes, for free candy?

How do you know they didn't have costumes? Maybe they were going as vegetarians or sixteen-year-olds?

We had a little over 350 this year, down from over 400 last year.

I think most people are creeped out, superstitious about cemeteries.

I would say it more likely keeps 'em away.

About four or five groups, maybe 30 kids total. Sad.

Sadder still, one of our cats ran away.

Poor Miles.

Oh, that's awful...I couldn't imagine that...I'm so sorry.

Did he get out during Trick or Treating?  Or was he an indoor/outdoor cat regularly?

Probably. We had the front door open much of the evening. What sucks the most is he's a black cat. People get wierd around black cats this time of year. He is/was a short excursion indoor cat. I hold out hope he'll wander back. At which point he'll go back to peeing in the kitchen, the little bastard. We miss him so.

^LOL.

Can the laughter, ink, or I'll come over there and cry on you.

Oh...I though RV was being sarcastic.

Oh, Jesus, no...I've had two indoor cats escape before, and it's horrifying...we found both of them, both in less than an hour, but god, that's awful...I'm sure if I had kids and one got lost, my brain would explode.

I lost sight of the boy at the store for 60-seconds once.

Head-exploding: no. Testicle-retracting: yes!

Hey speaking of kids...(see title of thread I unwittingly hijacked)

100 or so - but it seemed like less than last year.

Zero.  In the past 15 years at the same address I've had exactly 2 kids trick or treating--the parents divorced, kids went to live with mother out of state, and now no kids anywhere around here.  But every year I buy candy and decorate, just in case.

Zero for me.  Halloween in Madison is not marked by trick-or-treaters so much as thousands upon thousands of drunk people.  But even aside from that, I'd be surprised if there are more than a handful of children living anywhere near me.

that does it, i'm never living in shaker square.

Were you in NYC for Halloween? I just can't see trick or treaters going inside the condo towers at Shaker Square.

Yes NYC.  You would be surprised, there are quite a few families in the courts.  In these buildings its not odd to see families with 2/3 kids.  When I first moved here there were alot more families, than now as I've watched kids grow up here.

I've taken my nieces/nephews door to door around here and a few other buildings, as my cousin lives in the complex as well. Alot of the towers and apartment buildings join in "trick-or-tret" as square and Larchmere get lots of kids.

You have to remember that these are apartment "homes" and very "old school" as every apartment has a maids quarters (some with 2 maids quarters plus a butlers room), I would say about 60% of the apartments are more than 2,500 sq. ft. in size or better.

The kidnapping occured in Harlem Mr. Man!

well add that to my "do not live" list.

I when I was looking at places to buy, I couldn't believe how cheap some of those condos were. They looked beautiful and had 3 beds/2baths!  What's the story? Some had central air? If I were single, I could definitely see myself in one of those units.

My apartment was my first major purchase and I think that is the reason why I won't sell - it’s my baby!  All my friends where like you're a fool to buy an apartment right out of college.  The laughed...but today, my apartment has appreciated LOVELY and I paid it off 11.5 years, while most of them waited until the 90s too buy and have HUGE mortgages.  It's insane, what I paid for the apartment including my first renovation.  It was the deal of a lifetime.  This bitch is all mine!!

Yeah, some of the apartments are cheap to buy, but the maintenance fee is the kicker!  In addition, as I found out during my first renovation, with an old school apartment comes OLD pipes, wiring, fixtures, etc.  Therefore, what you think is a simple renovation/improvement becomes a full on gut/rebuild and they must use old school materials, since the building has historic status.

IIRC, the family that lived in my apartment moved in, in '40s??  You should have seen the horrible wallpaper and the carpet and lighting fixtures the bathroom tub and toilets all had to be replaced.  Thank goodness for the gay gene...I was able to see the potential in the old gal.

In the mid 90s my cousin bought his duplex (which I didn't know existed until he moved in) for a good price (it was double what I paid, and I have twice as much space), but his apartment had Mid-Century renovations, so the renovations he did weren't as extensive as mine.  His woodwork is fabulous!

The problem, or is it, is that a lot of the people in here, are LOOOOOOOOONG TIME residents, so they don't do renovations and back when most of these people moved in they had ceiling fans, so that why you'll find a lot of units with no central air. The woman with the 835k apartment for sale, I think she has been here since the mid 50s or 60s.  I wonder what she and her husband originally paid for that 6/7 bedroom joint!
