These photos were taken October 25-November 3, 2006.  The sun hardly cooperated, so a few of them have a weird hue to them.  For example, the bark on some trees appears blue.

Heritage Park and the Great Miami River.  The area is surrounded by woods and farmland.  I swear I heard shotgun blasts the entire time I was there.

Deer.  The park is severely overpopulated.  I saw a dozen in about half an hour.  They'll come right up to your car.

Just beautiful!  What great colors, and so well captured!  Thank you so much for posting these!

It takes a dam or a precipitation event to make the "Great" and "River" parts of "Great Miami River" truly applicable.

I actually like the blue trees, I've never really gotten into fall colors all that much.

Awesome!  Back to Mount Airy Forest!

Beautiful color, and I'm envious of people who have nice, clean rivers; ours are slow and muddy.

If you take a livestock trailer and a bucket of corn with you to the park, you might be able to save on your grocery bill if you don't set your standards too high.

At a picnic with some relatives from another area I ate what I thought was the worst beef I'd ever tasted. Then I learned that it was venison. It was tough and had an unpleasant flavor. Ack!

Mt. Airy Forest is a wonderful, underrated city park.

^Yes, and some would say it is quite 'foresty'

I thought about that, but the sound of distant shotgun blasts quickly changed my mind!  :D

Nice pics!

Wonderful photos, thanks so much for posting!
