Local Episcopalians elect new bishop

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

The Rev. Thomas Edward Breidenthal was elected Saturday as bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Ohio, putting the diocese into the thick of a worldwide Anglican feud over how to interpret what the Bible says about sexuality.

Breidenthal, 55, a dean of religious life at Princeton University, supports same-sex unions, an issue that has caused a rift in the church...

The diocese serves nearly 30,000 Episcopalians in 40 counties across southern Ohio including the cities of Columbus, Dayton, Cincinnati, Marietta, Athens, Zanesville and Portsmouth.

I don't see how it does that...dude has his personal belief, but said he'll follow the church's teachings...

I imagine this will spell the end of St. Michael and All Angels in Avondale - it's been kept open despite a tiny congregation mostly because of the old bishop - at least that's my understanding.  Here's a gallery of shots of St. Michael's and its stained glass windows...
