November 16, 200618 yr Nice! I can see the Getty museum wedged in there. I visit LA about 2-3 times a year since my sister lives there. I can tell you this is the ultimate panoramic because it sure doesn't look as beautiful as this at street level.
November 16, 200618 yr I never realized that the LA area had this many "minor" downtown highrise districts outside of downtown LA. About how many miles do you think the panorama spans from one end to the other?
November 16, 200618 yr You can even see the Hollywood/Highland corridor behind Wilshire's "Miracle Mile." "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers

About how many miles do you think the panorama spans from one end to the other? I believe Wilshire Boulevard (where pretty much most of those highrises are) extends to about 12ish miles. November 16, 200618 yr That pano is pretty much from Santa Monica to DTLA, so I'd say it's approximately 17 miles.
November 16, 200618 yr wow... you know, it's funny that with all the movie business based in LA, I've never really seen a movie that gives me a good sense of what the place feels like. Maybe Wassup Rockers? I don't know...
November 16, 200618 yr That is Awesome! I look foward to moving out there in the future! don't do it!
November 16, 200618 yr It's shocking how clear the mountains are. What's cooler than mountains? Nothin' 'cept for maybe this same view at night...
November 16, 200618 yr That is Awesome! I look foward to moving out there in the future! don't do it! LOL, some people love it out here and some hate it. I love it. MTS may hate it. Just make sure you understand the pros and cons of the city before moving! That goes for any city in the country.

November 16, 200618 yr ok Everytime I have been out there the city was buried in a thick brown soup of smog. (Think Bowling for Columbine) How did it get so clear ?
November 16, 200618 yr ok Everytime I have been out there the city was buried in a thick brown soup of smog. (Think Bowling for Columbine) How did it get so clear ? Photoshop! LOL
November 17, 200618 yr I haven't really seen much smog since I've been here... and the area the photo is of isn't an area the smog would settle in anyways.
November 17, 200618 yr by your tag, we're located in the same area. Whenever I'm LA that smog is crazy! The mornings...eww
November 17, 200618 yr Keep in mind, folks, that out west, "winter" means "winds," which means, smog goes bye-bye for a couple of months. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
November 17, 200618 yr so what i want to know is what are those other little highrise areas called, especially that semi-big one that is maybe second from the left. anyone know? is that a separate munic. or is it all LA???
November 17, 200618 yr I think what you are referring to is Century City, which is a neighborhood within the borders of the city of Los Angeles. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Century_city
November 17, 200618 yr by your tag, we're located in the same area. Whenever I'm LA that smog is crazy! The mornings...eww The mornings can be hazy but that is not smog, it's the marine layer. Cloud cover settles during the night when the sun is down and burns off during the morning. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marine_layer
November 19, 200618 yr Yep, it sure does look like a dump... skyscrapers, ocean, and the mountains are sooooo lame. ;)
November 22, 200618 yr yea i agree, it deff. doesnt look like a dump in this pic. i guess it proves LA is a monet  jk
November 22, 200618 yr And behind you you can take a pano of LAX area/El Segundo, Englewood, and in the distance, Long Beach. The real bad smog apparenlty is more inland...yet this is a particularly good day. and with a dusting of snow on the San Gabriels, too...nice!
November 22, 200618 yr was that shot from Rancho Palos Verdes?? That looks like the house I was partying at a few weeks back...
November 22, 200618 yr The only things LA is good for is "house flipping" , plastic surgery & karaoke superstars!
November 22, 200618 yr ^Hey, I would think some on here would think it's good for West Hollywood ;) Especially the Halloween party.
November 22, 200618 yr And behind you you can take a pano of LAX area/El Segundo, Englewood, and in the distance, Long Beach. Ehem, you're leaving out Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, and Catalina Island!
November 22, 200618 yr ^Hey, I would think some on here would think it's good for West Hollywood ;) Especially the Halloween party. EHH...maybe
November 22, 200618 yr sorry about a late/interrupting comment...but that is one HUGE pano!!!!!!!!!!!!! You kept me scrolling until I finally got the view I wanted..downtown.
November 24, 200618 yr Ehem, you're leaving out Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, and Catalina Island! Yeah, well, I was thinking of high rise clusters. Would Catalina be visible from that spot, or would it be obsucred by the Palos Verdes hills?
