September 18, 201212 yr 7200' stunning! I'd speculate it takes long-term conditioning to handle sustained exertion at that elevation? Not so much for me - Maybe around 9,000' and higher is when I start feeling it. Then you just need to ensure you're basically hyperventilating when you feel like you can't catch your breath. It's worth it though, as the scenery from that high is, excuse the pun, breathtaking.
September 20, 201212 yr VERY nice. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
September 20, 201212 yr Sorry Chris. The "orange sky of doom" is being diminished by inset street lamps in Seattle :)
September 22, 201212 yr ^ they bring good things to life - awesome shot! i love that jack welch book 'winning,' everyone should tead that, it's very inspirational.
September 23, 201212 yr my bro txt me these scary pics of a big water spout tornado off the east side of lorain-avon lake today. i saw like 4 small ones at once one time when i was a kid, but never anything like this - yikes! here it comes yoww!
September 24, 201212 yr Spectacular event! In 2007 from the Goodtime III I saw one forming, but I don't think it ever touched down:
September 30, 201212 yr Wow that looks like some great hiking right about there - nice shot Thanks! There is nothing like being 500 to 1000 feet above Lake Superior!
October 14, 201212 yr I can see on this page I'm not the only one experiencing weird weather. Here's a shot today from the observation deck of Kemper Tower. This public floor was last open in the 1970's and was reopened this weekend. What a lost treasure, the views are incredible!
October 15, 201212 yr Great shot, Andre. I can count at least 20 buildings in your picture that wouldn't have been there in the 1970s!
October 15, 201212 yr Chicago really does have a world class downtown and skyline. There are days I think it's prettier than New York. The nice thing too is that it's cheaper to live there.

I don't think (downtown and adjacent area's) is that much cheaper than Manhattan. I do think Chicago is perttier, than NYC as a whole.

October 17, 201212 yr Chicago really does have a world class downtown and skyline. There are days I think it's prettier than New York. The nice thing too is that it's cheaper to live there. I don't think (downtown and adjacent area's) is that much cheaper than Manhattan. I do think Chicago is perttier, than NYC as a whole. It's pretty cheap. Rent on the Magnificent Mile is on average $2.25/sqft/month. Plentiful supply of downtown 1 BR condos for under $1 Million. That's the allure of Chicago. Big City Experience at a bargain price.
October 19, 201212 yr Lovely! Nice thanks for the comments, although it's hard to take a really bad picture of the Flatiron Building when the sun is facing the west facade. Here's another one: http://www.mainstreetpainesville.org/
October 19, 201212 yr ha we were due for some flatiron -- i have yet to see that bldg in a bad light! here is the auduban ballroom from this past tuesday (bway/165th st)
October 25, 201212 yr The Giles County, Virginia courthouse at Main Street and Wenonah Avenue in Pearisburg was completed in 1836. It was placed on the Virginia Landmark Registry on July 20, 1982 and on the National Register of Historic Places on September 9, 1982. The structure was renovated in 2005.
October 25, 201212 yr Wow, Sherman! That courthouse looks like something I'd expect to see in Williamsburg or in the vicinity of Independence Hall, and the photo showcases it perfectly!
October 27, 201212 yr Ciao - Venice for a few days. The mickey mouse park of Italy. Cool buildings, mediocre experience.
October 27, 201212 yr ^ atsa niiice. be sure to rent 'don't look now' when you come home. it will up your venice experience!
October 29, 201212 yr ...not at fault. Driver ran their traffic signal and I had zero visibility of his vehicle due to a barrier wall and bridge piers. But it still sucks that repair work could take a month for a snapped axle and body work.
November 13, 201212 yr ^ very nice. i usually go to the speeches and start of the parade at madison sq every year, but i didnt make it this year.
November 13, 201212 yr ^ very nice. i usually go to the speeches and start of the parade at madison sq every year, but i didnt make it this year. yeah, I didn't watch too much of it, but apparently the parade has become more popular in recent years because of Iraq, etc. There was a time when hardly anyone showed up for it. I just took a few pictures toward the end of it at 52nd St. http://www.mainstreetpainesville.org/
November 15, 201212 yr Blaine Hill "S" Bridge on the Old National Highway, Near Bridgeport OH http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/infrastructure/back0105.cfm
November 15, 201212 yr ^ very nice. it reminds me of an old wedding picture i have somewhere from toledo that has the same style and background, except with corn stalks of course instead of reeds. i just think that kind of stalky greenery makes for a charming portrait backgound.
November 19, 201212 yr From the archives. Horse lot not far from downtown Chicago http://goo.gl/maps/TYhdI
