yeah i heard they spent over a meeelion dollars on that. as in $1M that could have been spent on, you know, actual endangered animals ans stuff.  :wtf:

who spent the dough?

something called the oceanic preservation society - which you would think would be more into...preservationing our oceanics:

I was pretty shocked when I heard the price tag for this event. I'm sure it was just some guy on the roof of a building on 28th St with an overhead projector or a Kodak slide carousel. lol

The projectors are huge and expensive to rent/buy/operate. Cincinnati has something called Lumenocity going on this weekend (it's done once a year), during which images/graphics are animated and projected on Music Hall, coordinated with a performance from the orchestra. The expense is similar to what this ESB projection apparently was.

Here's some examples: https://www.google.com/search?q=lumenocity+cincinnati&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAmoVChMIu8Hv68mXxwIVhnySCh0xkQUO&biw=1094&bih=435

Recently caught the band Mimicking Birds at The Drinkery in Over-the-Rhine (Cincinnati). They have a very Modest Mouse / Ugly Casanova vibe, which explains why they were signed to Isaac Brock's record label. Anyway, I used the opportunity to test out a new lens that I picked up specifically for concert photography and other dimly lit situations.

I remember this playing a big part in the show "Wiseguy" and I thought it was a fictionalized version of the Feast of the Assumption lol.

It happens to be very real and totally screws up traffic in the area for almost two weeks. "Wiseguy" indeed :wink2:--

the wall on this building (near the Rapid)was a constant back and forth between graffitti and paint-over.

these new murals there will hopefully alleviate that.
