November 22, 201113 yr "oh look at us, we're young and pretty and have our whole lives ahead of us..." Ah Shaddup!
November 22, 201113 yr "oh look at us, we're young and pretty and have our whole lives ahead of us..." Ah Shaddup! You need a image to go with that! Let me help you!
December 7, 201113 yr Heaven is on Lake Michigan (at least in the summer and fall). This photo is from September after Labor Day. The campgrounds were still packed along the coast and people were swimming further down on this beach. I'd love to see a picture of this place right now!
December 7, 201113 yr Thank you guys, and that is a bluff in the background. It's about 400 feet tall, so not quite Sleeping Bear, but pretty close.
December 22, 201113 yr The Arcue Building in downtown Springfield, Ohio is being demolished right now. I photographed this a few weekends ago while on location, and stayed at the Courtyard - which sadly replaced the Arcade. There was a reason I requested the corner with a balcony... Cause? Antiquated elevators. Seriously. The building had a decent occupancy and even first floor retail. More on this building soon.
December 31, 201113 yr Sometimes the best xmas gifts are the ones you get for yourself. I couldn't agree more!
January 1, 201213 yr be a dawg!! a couple new years eve dog walkers taking a break in the west village yesterday:
January 2, 201213 yr January 2, 2012 The U.S. Post Office and Federal Building was built in 1917 at 401 Davis Avenue in downtown Elkins, West Virginia. Designed in the Classical Revival style, the three story neoclassical building is host to City Hall today.
January 2, 201213 yr The site behind it was part of the Western Maryland railyards, and was recently cleared. A restored depot and a new connection into the city allows for the departure of many excursion trains today - and the rest of the land, which housed the yard and roundhouse, now house "auto tourism" sites - like the Holiday Inn in the background. But the city has a lot of holes...
January 5, 201213 yr January 5, 2012 A view from the Appalachian Highway looking towards the small community of Lawshe along the former Cincinnati & Eastern Railroad (now Norfolk Southern) at sunset. A church is softly illuminated by the waning sunset offset by clouds from a recent storm.
January 9, 201213 yr okay, I've always wanted to post a "Picture of the Day," although this maybe isn't the best quality (one day I'll graduate to a "real" camera!) Jacob Javits Federal Building, Lower Manhattan http://www.mainstreetpainesville.org/
January 11, 201213 yr looky what i accidently caught today -- metlife reflected in one madison! ^ i just pointed the iphone up at it while we were crossing madison (on the way to molly's shebeen  ) the glare was awful so i had no idea until i looked at it later. here's another nice view i got of one mad just before that one: mrnyc, I noticed this phenomenon a few weeks ago while walking through Madison Square Park at night. It's pretty startling when you're not expecting it. http://www.mainstreetpainesville.org/
January 14, 201213 yr This was taken outside the Harley Davison museum in Milwaukee. Someone took up a bunch of parking spaces!
January 14, 201213 yr This was taken outside the Harley Davison museum in Milwaukee. I hate it when they design bike parking like this. And by design, I mean just place a bike rack some place and hope that someone will use it. I mean, how do you lock it up when there are say, 5 bikes on there? They all can't lay horizontally.
January 24, 201213 yr ^ Note the standard issue scruffy white New Balance "Casual Time" dad sneakers... :) Looks warm,Arizona?
January 24, 201213 yr ^ Note the standard issue scruffy white New Balance "Casual Time" dad sneakers... :) Looks warm,Arizona? Sadly enough, I must admit I have the same shoes. However, they have never been propped up in such a casual setting with a montainous backdrop.
January 24, 201213 yr ^ Note the standard issue scruffy white New Balance "Casual Time" dad sneakers... :) Looks warm,Arizona? What exactly is wrong with scruffy white New Balance "Casual Time" dad sneakers?
January 24, 201213 yr ^ Note the standard issue scruffy white New Balance "Casual Time" dad sneakers... :) Looks warm,Arizona? Ha, the flip flops were being drop shipped there the next day. Palm Springs...Rancho Mirage to be exact.

January 25, 201213 yr I kept looking at that photo and thinking, "I know I've seen that." It just now hit me; it's the sail and mast on the Calatrava Wing of the Milwaukee Art Museum. Neat angle. A photo of the structure, taken during an SSP forum meet on a cold, wet day in March, 2005:
January 25, 201213 yr Exactly! Thanks! I just ordered a print, so hopefully it looks good printed up.

February 6, 201213 yr Oh, he was dead. He was actually in the front yard. But placed (posed) in this position by my son-in-law.
February 6, 201213 yr How crazy is this place. Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. We need this on Public Square, shake this city up a bit.
February 8, 201213 yr ^ omg that would be beyond badazz across western public square -- and you could spit off the poolside with impunity (unlike in singapore where spitting will get you 50 lashes)!
February 10, 201213 yr How crazy is this place. Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. We need this on Public Square, shake this city up a bit. It's not all that. It looks (and feels) cheap up close and in person.
February 10, 201213 yr How crazy is this place. Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. We need this on Public Square, shake this city up a bit. It's not all that. It looks (and feels) cheap up close and in person. Ah, the "One-Nationwide-Plaza effect".
February 11, 201213 yr except it would look and feel all that vs a decades long empty side of pubsq. something like that would be a lot more iconic than that lazy unworthy building jacobs wanted to put there before the economy tanked thats for sure.

March 7, 201213 yr i was sitting in madison sq and accidently caught the prez again last week -- he waved  you cant believe the disruption, money and effort it costs for these visits geez loueez u dont need no metrocard to ride this bus! :-o Man, that new presidential limo is a tank. I wouldn't be surprised if guns and missiles can come out of flaps on the roof and sides like on M.A.S.K.
