^Or to sum it up, it's trash with a Rally's.

CDM...damnit..lay off the Clevelanders and their Rally's!!!!  "You gotta eat" when you are on your way home from the bars!

Well, Highland Park is its own entity, thus the library, city hall, services, etc "suck" compared to Hough.  I would say visually, though, I honestly don't see a difference (though Highland Park housing is typically more brick; Hough is more wood-frame).

honestly?

Fine.  They are the same thing.  Hough, Highland Park, Hell.  No difference.

^Naw, there is a difference. Highland Park is worse.  Cleveland has its decay. Detroit's decay is Cleveland's on steriods. Highland Park is Hough on steriods.

See, I don't see that much of a difference between Cleveland and Detroit's decay (and I'm very familiar with both cities).  Sure, Detroit on a larger scale is "worse-off" than Cleveland but in terms of area vs. area of "ghetto," both can hang with each other.  Hough/Fairfax = East Detroit/Highland Park and perhaps Glenville = Southwest Detroit (demographically, different though).

If anything, I'd argue that Hough might be worse than Highland Park, as Highland Park atleast has some "nice" commercial architecture left standing.  Though the Model T Plaza with the GLORY!!! Foods is downright laughable.

I've only been to Cleveland like once so I'm more familiar with Detroit, but Detroit seems to have much better architecture judging from the various pictures I've seen of Cleveland. I could be wrong I guess.

Like once? Is that more than or less than once? ;)

The truly sad thing is, right next to it is the original factory that built the first model T. Which is just some crappy storage facility with a historical marker hidden behind brush.

Yeah, I've heard that story before.

No clue where that fits in the discussion but anywho, Highland Park...Hough...Parma...same thing.

No the Clinic isn't beautiful - and it's mostly their own doing, building suburban-style bunker buildings where a thriving neighborhood used to be. The new Heart and Vascular Institute isn't quite as terrible but it's hardly a piece of remarkable architecture. When the architects and planners employed by the Clinic realize that they don't operate in a bubble, and design their facilites accordingly - then I'll change my tune.

And as others have said - if you don't like it, and Cuyahoga County is such a craphole, why are you here?
