Posted November 22, 200618 yr Some friends and I took Megabus (http://www.megabus.com) from Cincinnati to Chicago for an extended weekend trip to Chicago this past weekend. Here is the first set that I have finished processing.
November 23, 200618 yr Yeah Chi Town! I can believe you got a shot of the reflective jellybean without the people! That's next to impossible.
November 23, 200618 yr ^ Yes you are right. I waited patiently and snapped away. That is one of the perks of traveling to Chicago during the fall/winter season.

November 23, 200618 yr Colday, I'm tired of your pessimistic attitude. You need to work on that shit. This shot and the EL are the bomb-diggaty shots:
November 24, 200618 yr Very nice Monte. ColddayMan: You don't like the bean? It's not that I don't like the Bean. I think it's interesting and it does bring a crowd towards artistic expression. The problem is that almost everybody and their momma "has" to take the shot of a gigantic metallic jellybean (myself included) as part of their experience to Chicago now. Screw the Board & Trade Building! WE GOT OURSELVES SOME FOUNTAINS WITH WATER SPITTIN' OUT LITTLE GIRLS FROM NAPERVILLE! November 24, 200618 yr As cliche as it is to take pics of the bean...it's just something you HAVE to do when you go (hence.. my avatar). I love the pic with the light rail.
November 24, 200618 yr Excellent thread. As I said earlier, the text you are using looks great, very professional, yet sleek.
November 24, 200618 yr Nice pictures...but that "bean" is starting to get on my nerves! Did anyone notice, how "mean" the cop on the horse and the guy at the news stand look? I guess they weren't ready for their close-ups. I love the pic with the light rail. Light rail? I thought that was THE L train?
November 25, 200618 yr Nice pictures...but that "bean" is starting to get on my nerves! Did anyone notice, how "mean" the cop on the horse and the guy at the news stand look? November 25, 200618 yr Light rail? I thought that was THE L train? Well I think it is really the "El" Thanks everyone for the great feedback and compliments.

I see what you are saying about the bean though. Everytime I go to Chicago with friends they want pictures in front of it, and they almost never come out all that great.
November 26, 200618 yr You often take great pics of people...this is one of your best!!! The girl's expression, the context, the scene are all wonderful! Looks like it should be on a postcard or a Holiday greeting card! Nice job
November 27, 200618 yr sweet jail bait ass. That white chick ain't got an ass. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers

December 4, 200618 yr I guess I just like the bean. Kudos to Chicago for creating art and public space that the public wants to be a part of.
December 28, 200618 yr I also loved the picture of the girl. Aside from the fact that she's very pretty, it's good photography. BTW, I think she's legal -- BARELY! Light rail? I thought that was THE L train? Well I think it is really the "El" We're getting into transit semantics. For those who care, the El is considered "heavy rail" due to the weight of the rails, and/or the weight of train equipment, and/or the extent of infrastructure, etc. etc. I used the "and/or" because sometimes a rail service has some hybrid features that even a rail expert may get fooled into thinking something is "heavy rail" or "light rail." As for electrical power, heavy rail trains are usually powered by electric third rail, but not always (variations abound). For example, Cleveland's Red Line is heavy rail, but is powered by overhead electric wires. Light rail is just what it sounds like -- lighter weight rails, and/or lighter trains, and/or less extensive infrastructure. But not always in all cases. Light rail can also be elevated (see what Seattle and Phoenix are building), or operate in subway (see St. Louis, Los Angeles and many other cities). There are always exceptions. After a while, an experienced observer can usually tell which is which just by looking at the tracks, trains, stations and such. But, like I said, even the experts can be fooled at first glance by some systems.
