Posted December 1, 200618 yr The general Rossville area has a mix of gentrifying and decaying sections. Parts of Ross Avenue, Main, "B", "C", and "D" Streets are included in the Rossville Historic District (featured in Gallery 4), yet the boundaries of the district are being considered for expansion. As I understand it, this would be a city designation, not a National Register expansion, like the original boundaries. The proposed boundaries includes a much broader area including parts of Oak Park (featured in Gallery 10), Prospect Hill (featured in Gallery 9), and the Main Street Business District (featured in Gallery 2). The following images are a mix of structures already in the district and those in or near the proposed boundaries. Step outside... December 1, 200618 yr Nice stained glass doors! That seems like an area that could be a good "house flippers" market!
December 1, 200618 yr What the hell???????? Nice pics. Looks like a cool vintage neighborhood with smaller homes that need a little TLC.
December 1, 200618 yr ^I know, I assume it is steps to rental units.. I'd love to get my hands on that house, it is just a block from Main Street and the new bridge to High, so you'd be right at the center of the urban core.
December 1, 200618 yr Keep 'em commin! "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
December 1, 200618 yr A little rough around the edges, perhaps, but certainly looks like it has a future. It doesn't look like a high-crime area, just not affluent. As I scrolled through the pics, when I came to the one with the monstrous outside stairs I involuntarily screamed, "Aaack!" :-o
December 2, 200618 yr Very nice ink. Nice housing stock. Just need a few people to get in and start a renovating.
December 3, 200618 yr I believe that this was set up as a defense for the west side Hamiltonians against the east siders. It provides the elevated position needed for a good shot as they come across the river
April 5, 200718 yr I believe that this was set up as a defense for the west side Hamiltonians against the east siders. It provides the elevated position needed for a good shot as they come across the river   Hahahahaahaha! As an official Eastsider, I can tell you that this comment just made me crack up! I'm sure that it's not that far from the truth.
