Stunning! Go Cleveland Go.

I know we always joke about preferring some of the unfinished facades on projects but I kind of like the dark - ah well, great updates and thanks for the pics!

I do too.  It at least breaks up the monotony of the superblock of silver panels.

Me too.  I think that dark color is extremely handsome and wouldn't disappear in our gray winter skies. I secretly hoped this was in fact the outer facade layer.

I wasn't going to say anything, but I might as well pile on the sentiment!

It is going to be darker than the other buildings, isn't it?

And yes, I kind of like the Seattle Seahawks-themed facade.

I was thumbing through Dimit Architect's site the other day. There is a flash animation on their main page that scrolls through some of their past work. I snapped a screenshot of a cool rendering of Corner Alley at Uptown.

I agree, that black does look kinda slick and a nice contrast to the silver... oh well, either way this place, which is already a hit, will take it to the next level... Can't wait.

Is Corner Alley moving there, or is it going to be an additional location?

Second location.

Picca Dilly is opening a third location next to Coquette. Opening in April.

Cool!

Interesting though, it won't be a typical Piccadilly.  Any ideas?

"But this will be no ordinary Piccadilly Artisan Yogurt, says Adrian. In fact, it will be called something else entirely (other than the Piccadilly part, which will remain).

If I were trying to get a new business concept up and running, I would avoid selling it as something that is "trending".  That says to me this concept is going to flame out real quick.

Especially in this area, where even people otherwise aptly described as "trendy" have an aversion to the word.

From an unnamed source.... Verizon is looking to move out. Don't be surprised to see another company that location in the future.

I vote Apple Store :)

Although it was only Verizon, I do hope it stays retail/amenities.

Completely unlikely but would be awesome for the area.  And would make more sense now that Apple moved further out east towards the edge.

A walk down Euclid, a step into Paris

“Bringing a little piece of Paris to Northeast Ohio” reads Coquette Patisserie, a new bakery that opened on Jan. 17 at 11607 Euclid Avenue, near Constantino’s and across from the Cleveland Institute of Art. Indeed, Coquette Patisserie does capture a slice of Paris, from its décor to its picture-perfect (Instagram-perfect, too) pastries.

Britt-Marie Culey, the other co-owner, graduated from Le Cordon Bleu and did stints in France as well as New York before coming to Cleveland in 2008 with her husband, Shane. What started as a wholesale and catering business burgeoned into something bigger as they started having people ask about a brick-and-mortar store. They soon realized that they needed a shop and finally settled in University Circle, which in their eyes has their target clientele as well as a convenient location with easy access to public transportation.

Oh man do I love the extra height on this phase.  Thanks for the pic!

^Just not enough height to block the sunlight from the homes of the Hessler folks, apparently.

As I understood it, theere was a stoppage of work due to the unfortunate event back in february but it looks like some work has resumed on Euclid Tavern/Happy Dog near Uptown

Looks like the opening will be some time this summer.

What's going on behing Uptown?  Thank's for the photo updates!

Interesting... any chance you got some from Euclid/Mayfield?

No I only took pics from the back parking lot/Hessler area.

this one I shouldve posted, it best shows the whole of Phase II (no pun intended)

I took some pics of the front last week

What retail tenants besides the corner alley are planned for this?

^Thanks AJ93... Interesting that they've been slapping the silver siding on the back first instead of the front.

What retail tenants besides the corner alley are planned for this?

There's a FirstMerit and Potbelly Sandwiches that have been announced, but I think that's all they've said.

I find it odd that U.C is so hot right now, has just as many residents if not more than Downtown in a smaller area, is in national newspapers but can't attract clothing retail.

There's a clothing store, next to Mitchell's, isn't there?

^^UC doesn't have anywhere near the amount of residents that Downtown has, and has a much smaller employment base.

Isn't that women’s' boutique, Anne van H still open in Uptown's pavilion area?

I read somewhere that the residents were at 15,000 but if I'm mistaken I apologize.

U.C. So hot right now....UC.

^I wouldn't focus so much on the population of the neighborhood.  Obviously more is better when it comes to supporting retail, so increases are nice, but there really isn't a simple relationship between neighborhood population and viability of retail.  Tons of complicating factors, like income, transportation access, proximity to other retail options, etc, that come into play.

How long has Constantino's had outdoor tables and chairs?

How long has Constantino's had outdoor tables and chairs?

I've sat in them in past summers.

"In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck

So two facts -- they're out for the year and I'm blind.

Coquette Patisserie is adding a 750 sq.ft. patio for the summer. From their FB page:
