Weird combo, I know.  But I don't care because I'm ColDayMan.

Well, they aren't going to lose to Ohio State again in the National Championship so I decided give them a classy salute from The Ohio State University.  Thank you to Hayward/Wolverine for the tour and Pistons game.

^ You can't reason with Colday. He's evil. Just look at all of those Michigan photos. Sickening.

Wow...utterly fantastic!  You are king!

Speaking as a Cincinnatian who went to Michigan, and grew up loving the Bad Boys era Pistons, this just might be my favorite photo thread yet.

Then I should've called this thread: "A Tribute to Cramer...and not THAT Kramer..."

I'm surprised how much ground we covered in just a day.  I'm also suprised at the great photos you got.  I thought I was moving the tour a little quick, and wasn't sure if you were getting the photos you wanted. Such a shame it was freezing cold out though.

Oh, and COUZENS hall will forever be pronounced like "Cousins" whether you like it or not.

But I don't care because I'm ColDayMan.

I don't care that you're ColDayMan either.

Great stuff.  I like Ann Arbor.  My only problem with it is that it's filled with Wolverines fans.

Absolutely Gorgeous!!!!!!

Where on OSU's campus will you find that?

Ann Arbor is a great little city.  The campus is beautiful and nestled right in the middle of it.

But the pictures of Cincinnati make me homesick for Ohio.

Thanks for the shots.

wow I love the black and white of the fountain and the carew tower...what a great persepctive!

Absolutely Gorgeous!!!!!!

Where on OSU's campus will you find that?

But again, where on Michigan's campus will you find Orton Hall?  Or even a decent greenspace?

It's a matter of perspective.  Both OSU and Michigan have gorgeous structures...yet some losers as well.

You won't.

Anyways, nice thread. The night time shots from Carew's roof were interesting and something rarely seen.

Calvin I think you need some therapy sessions; perhaps it would be beneficial to find out where your hate for Ohio stems from??

I'm sure it stems from having to live in Toledo..

^actually, it was a family vacation to Cincinnati that did me in. yeah, mom and dad, real exciting summer vacation. The beaches weren't missed at all...

Or perhaps it was my first trip to Easton.

Or maybe it was that trip to Worthington, or my first visit to Sylvania.

I remember a bad trip to Springfield and Kettering too, and equally bad trips to Perrysburg and Canton.

Oh wait, actually Butler County was the worst of it. I feared for my life there!

Basically, SANDUSKY > all of Ohio

I think someone needs to lay off the alcohol...

You know...a vacation is what you make of it....I'm sure you can even be more easily bored in *cough* Toledo, than many of these other places.  I agree with captain Colday....lay off the booze  :drunk:

Thanks for all the Ann Arbor photos.  Makes me miss the old stomping grounds!

I have to ask, though--what is all that white shit on the ground???

It's Michigan.  Livonia...er...white should be expected.

MI, OH, whatever. Very good photography.

hot damn nice thread. i loved all that jumping around, it was fun & it was like we went on the trip with ya. best was looking at the snow filled stadium, cool shot. i'm not ready for snow yet.

Yeah, Ohioians don't know snow..

Well, save for a certain eastern Cleveland area, they get a good amount..

^  :wtf:  hmm, never a good idea to post at 5am

Michigan Sucks.

The shot of the "Big House" covered in snow is B-E-A-utiful.

That was, and probably will be my last time I see the stadium in its built form like that before the bulldozer come in and start demolition of the upper levels, and new steel rises for the press boxes and suites.

U-M law library: aka, the "Legal Research Building".  Ironically, the main law library is now in an adjacent building constructed underground so as not to harm the vista of this awesome beauty.

One cool fact about the U-M law library is that the seals of all the other law schools in the country are in the stained glass.

Another: During the Naked Mile sometime in the late 90s, some guy ran across several of the tables. And nobody seemed to mind as much as when I sneezed.

U-M's a very odd campus.  It's generally bland, blocky and sterile, but it has its pockets of beauty, mainly the law quad.  But overall, it's nothing exciting; very cramped and factory-like; Albert Kahn designed many buildings that resembled those he built for GM in the early 20th Century ... However, it has, as you can see, some spectacular interior spaces... Most of the most beautiful buildings/interiors are in related to grad programs.

Wow, thats a nice looking law library, but it is completely obsolete due to lexis nexis and westlaw. Noice, no one has a book in front of them, they all have laptops, a few do have a pad of paper.

Most of the Albert Kahn buildings were prototypes for his factories.  The regents were not happy upon their completion.  But that was only one building, Natural Sciences.  It has a factory like interior with exposed pipes and electrical in the hallways.  It's primarily a research building.

I know I might be biased being a student there.  But I wouldn't go as far to call it sterile.  A lot of the buildings on campus are rather old, done in the Beaux Arts, Art Deco, and Collegiate Gothic.  This means there something to look at detail-wise.  Something more mundane would probably be Dennison Hall, the South Stacks, and the MLB, but that's pretty much it.  Even North Campus has some good moments.  This is actually the first time I've ever heard the campus described this way.  Can you elaborate on that?

traitor!!

What?  Me or ColDayMan?

i like the power center. so much concrete, its absurd

What?  Me or ColDayMan?

Probably me, but it's summit street.  *yawn*
