COLUMBUS — Land parcels once under consideration by Hyundai and Honda for auto assembly plants were two of the three places in west central Ohio to receive Job Ready Sites awards Thursday.

 

The third wasn’t under consideration by an automaker, but it is across the street from a power plant under construction in south Lima and could house a synthetic gas research and production center.

 

Lima, Van Wert and Wapakoneta represent $8.65 million of the $51.5 million recommended for funding in the first round of the program. The 18 statewide projects are all recommendations that need approval by the Ohio Controlling Board...

Sites in Cincinnati, Reading and Middletown are among 18 projects statewide that have been recommended for grant funding through the Ohio Job Ready Sites Program, Gov. Bob Taft announced Thursday.

 

The grants, which total $51.5 million for all projects, will help communities prepare sites for large-scale industrial or business expansion, Taft's office said in a news release. The recommendations must be approved by the Ohio Controlling Board...
