"There is nothing worse than a grown man with a fu-fu pet.  That just grinds my gears!"

Let's see:

Certain foo-foo breeds = bred to live a life of leisure, usually as pets of royalty.

Most non-foo-foo breeds = bred to hunt/kill/retrieve their owners' dinner (and their own).

Thanks, I'll take my foo-foo babies anyday!

I'm talking 6'0" and above muscle queens with lap dogs.

You're under 6'0" you're allowed to be a Queen with two foo-foo pets!

^A Queen with *two* foo-foo pets, thankyouverymuch!

I stand corrected.  Queen!

Thanks  :) He used to be quite the chick magnet. I wish he would have stayed that size lol

dogs and baby are chick magnets.  my cousin met his girlfriend while picking up my niece and nephew at school.

Dogs can also be quite a deterrent depending on the "chick"..... now puppies, they are worth their weight in gold for ice breaker purposes.

Welcome to the forum - sorry for your loss; it's never easy :|

Those dogs look like they're hiding something. Did you check for anything suspicious under the comforter?

People still think he's a pup lol

Actually that's the "oooh, the human is holding treats!!!" look. And my partner thinks I'm a loon but I'm convinced those two are the Paris Hilton/Nicole Richie  (during the good years) of the doggie social circuit.

You have any baby pictures of 'em? They remind me of my grandma's pugs "Benny" and "Precious". Man those dogs love food! Nothing makes them happier than a fancy meal. The way their whole face lights up is hilarious.

But You Are Blanche, ya are!!  ;D

something anyone with a cat can relate to...cat busted on table. bad!

Your cat is trying to look all inoocent lol "What did I do!?"

something anyone with a cat can relate to...cat busted on table. bad!

That is the prime reason I don't like cats.  Too much attitude for someone who doesn't pay rent.  However, you get points for color matching the cat with the decor.  Fab table!!!

thanks but I thought tou hated modern/mod decor! I also have a black cat and an orange cat to match the rest of the place. now I probably should have posted this one-sweet kitty perching over his gritty kingdom of  cleveland .

LMAO!! Yep, I know that guilty look all too well.

The second photo is great.  Wow, that's actually a really nice view.

I dont hat modern/mod.  I'm not a fan of new build housing.  It's not for me.  I HATE track homes and homes with garages attached on the front.  great pic.  you need to show us more pics from your crib!

something anyone with a cat can relate to...cat busted on table. bad!

But it's the most likely place for a kitty to find breakable things to shove off onto the floor so they go smash! Of course, knocking lamps off end tables, vases and candlesticks off fireplace mantles, and clearing potted plants off windowsills are all fun, too. One of the most fun things is a light bulb left on the kitchen counter.

Those things are best done late at night, so kitty can hide behind the sofa and watch for the expression on your face when you come stumbling from the bedroom, still half asleep, to see WTF was that hellish noise.

I hear you. The the white cat loves fresh flowers. He has matured some but  at one point  I was used to the crash in the night...waking up, throwing towel over the spilled water. Honestly when you have cats, crashes in the night, followed by frantic scuttling noises are just part of the deal.

I always know the one that ran the furthest from the scene or the crime is probably the guilty one. The one that is sitting there with sleepy, blinky eyes and a WTF??? expression is the innocent one.

The spray bottle is your best friend.

^they learn the range quick. They also know it takes about 3 pumps to get it going and by then they are long gone. I am thinking I have bad cats.

Once my cat sees it he runs away, shaking his head as if he was sprayed in the face lol.  He's a great cat, but at the same, time he's a terror.

mine responds so dramatically to getting hit by the spray it is as if he is pantomiming being hit by a bullet or something.

After reading the past few posts, I'm so glad I never had a pet!

My pets at their most vicious.

Grace is the white dog, Frank is the Black dog.

JINKIES!

Of course, when you're p.o.'d that just makes it more fun.

And Marcus Aurelius is beautiful.  I love Dobermans; they're great dogs.

I love Dobermans too ... great looking pup!

Penny looks like a sweetheart! Marcus is well trained and he too is a super sweet dog, its all about raising them with love and authority instead of fear and brutality... does he look like a man eater now?

anyone know where I can get a Bernese Mountain Dog without spending $1000?  I am open to a rescue, but since they have relatively short life spans, I wouldn't want the dog to be much older than 1 year old.

Random questions but I guess this thread fits. I know we're all a bunch of city dwellers but anyone ever considered breeding or stud services?

I'm looking at Mini's (my Mini Pincher's) Certificate of Pedigree going back 3 generations and he has champions in his bloodline, including his Sire (father). The only thing I hate about this Cert. of Pedigree is that it's registered under the APR and I've heard bad things about their credibility (then again, the other certifications don't seem very reputable either, they're all about the $$$). I'm also having a hard time getting information about his breeder in TX who I'll be pissed if is running a half @ssed, inhumane puppy mill. He was $1700 but he was from Petland and I have a feeling that real breeders out in the country probably are more cautious about over-inbreeding compared to the (possibly) puppy mills that supply chain pet stores.

I thought this would be a great way for my dog to get some much needed @ss (he hasn't been laid but once) and also for some supplemental income. We both win! I'm really curious as to how much it would cost to get him legit and ready to go. I have all of his vet records but he's past due for another visit. I don't know what all certification and records are required that provide peace of mind to those who would be using him for stud services but I'm wondering if in addition to shots, physical, etc., it involves DNA testing to verify that he is a purebred but not too inbred (that must be expensive, right?) A small investment would make this thing worth while but I wouldn't want to get in over my head in vet bills and time. I definitely don't want to do some big breeding operation but the stud services route for one dog seems like it might be manageable. What do you guys guys think? I've seen other Min Pins being put online for stud services and they're f*ckin ugly compared to my dog. Most Min Pins look like puny shriveled rats. He's muscular, clipped ears and tail, has a strong jaw and wide head, great stature, and a lot of personality. He walks down the street like he owns it! People have asked me like 3x while walking down the street if I wanted to breed him and make money. I'm still worried that people are going for the weakling prissy min-pins and would think he's too big and bulky, even though he's also very lean. A lot of people want their min-pins to be lapdogs. Mini is small and he'll sit on your lap but he is kinda big for a min-pin.

I also don't know yet the best route to promote him. Craigslist? These random breeder/stud websites (which there's thousands of and have few members at each site). Maybe the best way to get him some exposure would be to take him to a local dog show?

Any feedback, tips, advice would be appreciated. Also if you happen to know people that know a lot about purebreds, please forward them question to them and I'd be very grateful.<3

Perhaps an animal clinic could give me some good basic information? I've never gone there with those kinds of questions/intentions so I'm a bit hesitant lol.

Let's see if we can bring this thread back to life.

My dog got a little hot during a recent boat ride so we had to cool him off with a wet towel.

And one more just to show how cool he is.

Bull Mastiff?

^Yes sir!  Best breed ever if it weren't for all the drooling.

Cute!

Not really a very good quality pic, but..... here's Kobi.  Sweet as can be when you are a guest and GREAT with kids.  Downright frightening to anybody who dares come within 50 feet of my house (I had one contractor who walked off the job because I was at work and he thought Kobi was going to jump through the window).

Before any of you make any smarmy comments (cough, cough MTS), I got rid of those vertical blinds years ago.

Some pics of my Weim at his hunt test this spring.  He was pretty lean then from all the training, but has put about 6-8 lbs on since.  We scored first place in that competition too and he was the only Weim entered.

That is one gorgeous dog!

^^^I wanted a German Shepherd, but the wife thought they looked too mean.  I think they're beautiful... and some of the smartest dogs I've ever encountered.

^^Nice looking Weimaraner.  There are two of those in my building.  One is the best dog ever and the other is downright mean.  Difference in handling I suppose.

Thanks.  He placed 3rd in 12-18 month group this year at Weimaraner National show (which was held in Ohio).  I'd love to show him more, but I don't know the first thing about it and it takes a ton of time.  He's a natural in the show ring though and has all the potential to be a dual field/show champ.  Yes I'm a proud parent.  Can't wait to get him back on birds this fall.  He's come a long way in barely a year's time.
