Nice story for the young man who grew up in the Glenville neighborhood and has gone on to become an All-Pro NFL center.

Wednesday, December 20, 2006

From staff reports

Injured Browns center LeCharles Bentley will be at St. Ignatius High School today to make a $100,000 donation to the all-boys Jesuit school on Cleveland's near West Side. A 1998 graduate of St. Ignatius and a standout offensive tackle for the Wildcats, Bentley will present the check to Fr. Timothy P. Kesicki, the St. Ignatius president, during halftime of the school's annual faculty vs. senior students basketball game in the Wildcats' Sullivan Gymnasium. The presentation will be at approximately 1:30 p.m. Bentley also will provide play-by-play analysis of the game.

Wow, Bentley's injured all season, yet he's producing more than most of our Brownies are regardless!  Seriously, this is great.

Speaking from personal experience?

The chick was bigger than Color Purple Oprah last time I saw her.

So no :).

Just to bump this - he came and spent a week at Ignatius last week, just to spend time and help out with the current students.

Always been partial to Ignatius since junior sibling spent two years there, though it probably has more to do with my Maple Mustang alum disdain for Eds.   >:)

I remember when he came and talked to our class. Does he still have that O-line academy out in Avon?

It expanded so much that it became a destination for professional and college O-lineman, so he moved it to Arizona, where he houses and trains pros and prospects.

He also owns an agency now, AMDG Sports.
