Posted December 24, 200618 yr After the Bearcats game we walked around Clifton Heights and had a late lunch at Lenhardt’s Restaurant. I have always enjoyed the urban fabric of and grit of this neighborhood and should have photographed it a long time ago. While I am not a fan of the gloom that filled the sky today, it seemed to compliment the neighborhood well. As I was photographing the neighborhood I was greeted by four Cincinnati Bearcat ballplayers who I convinced to pose for me. Here are the photos:
December 24, 200618 yr Clifton Heights, certainly one of Ohio's best neighborhoods. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
December 24, 200618 yr they really need to get started on the mcmillan park development. I don't think it is going to happen within the next year.
December 24, 200618 yr If McMillan park does get completed and there isnt a huge hole between Urban Outfitters, Myras, etc and American Apparel, Cilantro, etc, Clifton Heights will be amazing. I always did like that two or so blocks of McMillan and Calhoun over towards Hughes.
December 24, 200618 yr I took the family and some relatives down to Red Pepper on Wednesday night last week. Excellent meal, only problem was as soon as we left the restaurant, we had someone asking us for money. I am fucking sick of that shit. I am a student and people are on campus asking for money, if I had so much extra money sitting around, I would donate it. I'm a student = poor!
December 24, 200618 yr Great tour. Your pictures are always great, monte. They really capture the feel of the area.
December 26, 200618 yr What did you say to the players to get them to ham it up like that...normally the players are all joe cool and don't like to show emotion. Anywho, I agree with the comments about Clifton Heights being wonderful. I was speaking with an inside source from UC the other day and I brought up McMillan Park...and he said that he believes that there is going to be a big break for the project soon. I sure hope he's right, because I believe an influx of a bunch of year-round residents could make this neighborhood a truly premiere neighborhood!!!
January 24, 200718 yr Just getting to these December photo threads now - I got way behind at year's end! Ach, Monte, another piece to the never-ending puzzle of Cincinnati neighborhoods clicks into place! Very nice! You know, four basketball players walking around in matching sweatsuits plastered with "Cincinnati Basketball" - it's not like they could be too upset about being noticed! So what exactly do the signs they're flashing mean? Is that what "the shocker" means? And BTW, what the hell is "the shocker"?
January 24, 200718 yr I suggest you look it up on www.urbandictionary.com. Probably not work friendly to mention it on this board. ;)
