Posted January 1, 200718 yr Dear UrbanOhio family....wishing you and your families a happy, healthy, prosperous and successful 2007! As I type this with a massive hangover, after a long night of drinking and some how ending up in the Bronx after leaving my best friends NYE party, I've started to thinking about my resolutions for the year. Do any of you make resolutions? If so, do you keep them? Here are some of my resolutions for 2007 1. Continue to mentor a young man. I haven't been very reliable with this since I travel frequently, its hard to make a commitment, but want to work with kids in Junior High to get them interested in communications 2. Develop a scholarship for minorities in Public Relations/Communications My best friend and I, are going to work with some of our other friends to see if we can sponsor this at CSU and/or OSU for a kid within the Cleveland Public School district. 3. Get Foster Care Training/Continue Research Adoption Seeing so many children, especially black & latin male children who need a loving stable home. Although, having my five year old nephew for five days last week was trying to say the least. I don't know how you parents do it. My nephew smashed a kid in the face with an ice cream cone and says to me, "he asked for it, he said he wanted it." 3a) Get Uncles MayDay, ColDayMan, the Pope and KOOW to babysit - at the same time! LOL that might be my most difficult task and the state would probably take the kid away from me after exposing him to that foursome! LOL 4. Resign from my job If I do go into the foster care system and adopt a child, I'll resign/not renew my contract and do private PR, Consulting, Strategy Planning and try to develop a strategic marketing plan for the city/county as well as help entrepreneurs (especially minorities/gay lesbian) develop PR plans. In addition, I'd have my own interior design/real estate (property flipping) company. Resigning has weighed heavily on my mind lately as I on occasion miss important events in my nephews/nieces lives and I have two really really good job offers over the last 6 weeks. OK...my head hurts...too much champagne and wine, I don't think I'm opening the blinds today.
January 2, 200718 yr HAPPY FREAKIN' NEW YEAR!!! "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
January 2, 200718 yr Forget THIS year's resolutions, MTS. Whatever came of LAST year's? I did: – I invested in two Flip real estate properties. – I donated items/clothing and worked at my local good will & boys choir of Harlem – Mentor an employee – Enroll in a Kick Boxing class I didn't do – Teach my father Spanish. How can we (my mom, brother and I) talk about him, if he knows what we're saying? – Conquer my fear of public speaking – Cut back on personal shopping expenses - failed miserably on this one – Get my PHd in Marketing. I just don't have the time with my travel schedule
January 2, 200718 yr ^they have phd's in marketing? I'm sorry, but I'd just laugh at someone who had one.
January 2, 200718 yr Yes, they do. It was that or a PHd in Finance & Economics or get another masters, this time in real estate.
January 2, 200718 yr no offense to you, but there's just some degrees out there that seem to have a very low ROI (me having absolutely no knowledge on a PhD in Marketing.) Kind of akin to MBA's these days.

It was something I thought about, when I was unsure my contract would be renewed.
January 2, 200718 yr When I was in my early teens, I was with my aunt having lunch with a friend of hers who had just received her PHD. I asked her, "What's a PHD?" She: "You know what BS stands for, don't you?" Me: "Y-yes." She: "Well, the next step after BS is MS, and that stands for More of the Same. After that comes PHD, and that stands for Piled Higher and Deeper."
January 2, 200718 yr "3a) Get Uncles MayDay, ColDayMan, the Pope and KOOW to babysit" I'll remind you that I'm the proud owner of "Mommie Dearest" on DVD - I realllly don't think you want to expose a child to my parenting skills! clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram

I didn't select you for your parenting skills, I selected you to give the kid an apprenticeship at the coveted HBIC Academy & Finishing School! You cant start planning to soon for your kids education.
