Okay, I am looking at my pictures and I have come to the conclusion that I am just taking the same darn pictures!  I got a tripod for Christmas and I just never got around to taking pictures downtown at night with it.  Hopefully next time! 

 

But here we go.  It was a really nice day for pictures, the geese were swimming, many people were out for a  stroll, there were even bikers along the river!

Has anybody seen this building at night lately!?  I think it is cool, I mean, I think it is cool that there is a building in downtown Columbus that lights up with flashing lights.  Thats cool!  But I don't think it really does this building justice.  A friend of mine works at AEP and she now refers to the building as the "Mother Ship"

I always wanted to go to North Market. I like those industrial buildings. Nice pics.

Is it me or are a lot of these pics a bit blurry?

 

I like the geese/reflecting buildings on the Scioto snap. I set up almost this same shot back in November, but I'd bumped the settings knob on my crappy little Powershot and didn't realize it until after I'd clicked off about 20 shots (I was shooting via viewfinder to conserve battery). Does anybody else find it disturbing that these geese have given up migrating?

 

Come to notice it, I have a lot of the same shots as you. The arena rising from the mound shot, in particular. I hear what you're saying about getting into a rut shooting downtown. It's all very pretty, but there just isn't a whole lot of it. My next photo-expedition I'm going for all-wierdo, all ugly.

Thanks for the comments.  Some of the pictures are blurry, I'm sorry about that.  I want to take a lot of night shots from here on out.  It would be great to take pictures of Columbus from a different hight, but I don't have access to that kind of area as of now :-(  I need to get there earlier the day some time, get some of the same shots but with a different lighting.  I've always wanted to go down to Columbus during a festival of some kind and take pictures of the cityscape then.  I was even thinking that it would be cool to have some us Urban Ohioans to work together and photograph the city during Red, White, and Boom from different areas of the city.  I'm rambling again.  Just trying to spout off different ideas.  Keep the comments comming, I love them.  :-)

I routinely forget how nice The Arena District is. Then I go to The Arena District or see pictures, and I'm like, "Yeah! The Arena District."

I agree, there isn't much talk on Columbus, I've noticed that and it's unfortunate, but I have always felt that it has always kind of been that way.  But what is there to talk about though, nothing major is happening there, no major anouncements, no big projects.  Of the projects that we do know about there isn't much information on them.  Those black and white pictures that I took, well those are just before you get to the office of those who built the Buggy Works.  I went there to do some follow-up, see if there was more information on Phase Two of the Buggyworks Project.  The website they have is horrible, the pictures are sooo small, I wanted to see if they had anything better, like actual files or pictures or pamphlets.  They were closed, not open yet from the holidays.  Oh well.  Any new information on the old projects?  I would like to know how the Hyatt expansion is comming along.  How about the Split Reconstruction?
