Cincinnati Planning Commission acts on Xavier’s final med school design

Xavier University is clear to begin building its new College of Osteopathic Medicine after the Cincinnati Planning Commission unanimously approved its final design Feb. 21.

“We thank you for your investment in your city and the region,” said Jacob Samad, chairman of the planning commission.

The college will be Ohio's first new medical school in 50 years, with a total economic impact of $549 million.

The facility will include a state-of-the-art simulation hospital with 16 exam rooms and five flexible simulation rooms, an estimated 200-seat lecture hall and a 5,600-square-foot meeting hall.
