The project signals a $20M+ effort and will bring new living units and retail options online. The Hull Plaza at 4 W. Main St., also known as the Fairbanks Building, is potentially the site of a major redevelopment effort within the upcoming years. The historic building was first constructed in the early 1900s by the Fairbanks Building Co. The developer, Indiana-based AP Construction, has requested Springfield's city commission to approve an economic development agreement to purchase the property. If approved, AP intends to redevelop the 78,000-square-foot building into approximately 80 to 90 market-rate apartment units along the top floors with retail options on the lower ones. April 10Apr 10 ^What a terrible site plan. Looks like they are throwing a suburban subdivision into a beautiful traditional neighborhood. Homes should be facing Pythian and Sunnyside, not inward. Now the fine homes on those streets will look at the back of vinyl houses...
