I was thinking about how some people call Cincinnati – Cincitucky and Columbus – Cowlumbus. So I was wondering what we might call the other cities in Ohio????

I was thinking Dayton – Gayton? (no particular reason)

Or maybe Akron – CrAkron?

How about Cleveland – Leaveland (since everybody’s moving the fuck out of there)

Toledo – Bloledo?

What do you guy’s think?

Indianoplace

Cincinasty

I have heard "N*gga Nati" before in the Post. Apparently this is yelled out at City Council meetings...

the forest city,

oh wait, this is sarcastic......

ugh...

I like the "Bloledo" one....Dayton needs some work.

Dayton's is The Gun City (a play off the Gem City nickname).

Lima's is "The Bean."

Akron's is Crackron.

Cleveland's most famous is "Mistake by the Lake," along with Leaveland.

Censornatti is another for Cincinnati.

Columbus is "No Place" or "The C. Blow"

Toledo is "T.Not"

"You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers

And Youngstown's is "Yamnden"

"You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers

Why do they call it the Gem City?

Because its such a gem. (said sarcastically).

I've also heard it called "Dirton" or "Dirttown"

Or, "the northermost city in Kentucky".

There actually are suburban neighborhoods called "Dogpatch" (in Moraine) and "Little Kentucky" (a part of Fairborn).

I've heard "Nastynati" once or twice...

I thought of another one..... Columbitch

I think I've heard that too....

we have a new name for coldayman,

ColBitchMan

I've heard Censor-nazi (especially after the Mapplethorpe fiasco) which is pretty damn similar to Censornatti.

^ Or, "Cincin-nazi". I guess we just listed three of the same thing.

Hamilton, OH . . .

Hamiltucky or Hamilbama (my personal favorite)

I have heard Hamiltucky before.

Different spellings of Cincinnati:

Nati

Cincy

Cinti

Cinci

Sinsinnati

Zinzinnati

Nati

Nasty Nati

Censornati

Nati Nat

The Nati

Remember when the Chamber of Commerce or economic development folks or somebody wanted to change Hamilton's official name to Hamilton! (with the exclamation point) to convey a sense of energy and excitement?<giggle! snort!>

In the same vein, I've been trying to get Fort Wayne's name changed to fortwayne. to convey the sentiment of the old guard, that there's no nonsense and no excitement that that's just the way they like it, by God!

In the late 1970's, Mad Magazine ran a strip about the fictional ultraconservative town of Dacron, Ohio, where the mayor's cross-dressing son had created a scandal involving numerous prominent citizens.

Sounds like a Martin Mull skit. Anyone remember Fernwood Tonight? Set in fictional Fernwood Ohio?

But..Dacron...I like that!

^ Totally does. I could see Mull and Willard in that.

I remember Fernwood 2Night. I think they still show it every now and then on TV Land (which was the first time I saw it, incidentally).

^^Couple of names I've heard for Akron are "the a.k." and "a-town" (of course Atlanta's nickname is "a-town"). Others for Cleveland are: The Land, DNA Level C, Land of the Scant, Theiveland, Land of the Heartless. I've just heard "the dirty Natti" for Cincinnati, and also Cincy. Columbus- the C.O. is the only nickname I've heard of for this town.

I have heard Cincinnati called the QC -- short for the Queen City. I have heard it called the "Queen" too. Of course, Cincinasti, Censornatti, CinciNazi, Rhineland, and many others. And by the way, what do you call a pretty girl in Cleveland? A tourist! I heard that from a Clevelander too. One good thing about being close to KY - Cincy has hot girls within reach. Poor Cleveland. Where are you going to go for hot girls - Erie, Akron, PA, MI?? Oh my.

that's a new one....KY having an abundance of hot girls? Maybe I just prefer girls with all of their teeth. haha im just playin

Girls with no teeth have their benefits...

Thank you, thank you!

^^^   I guess that's true!!!!

this topic made me think of some of the nicknames for the colleges in Ohio:

Kent read, kent write, Kent State

Wright State, wrong college

bgSTDu

UC=University of Convicts or Under Construction

OSU people say Ann Arbor is a whore so the Michigan people say Columbus is a fag, but I think that's a pretty stupid one.

I have heard NKU...no knowledge university

How about suburbs:

Lakewood - Flakewood

Eastlake - Greaselake

Euclid - Pukelid

East Cleveland - Hell

Garfield Hts - Garbage Hts

Euclid - Pukelid

LMAO!

Weirton, WV = Weirdtown

Youngstown = Gunstown

Ashland = Assland

Bucyrus = Buckeye Rust

...........that's enough

One more...........

Cook County (Chicago) = Crook County (all of the dirty politics)
