Posted January 24, 200718 yr Hey everyone, I need some help finding an apartment. I am goin' to grad school at UC and am looking for a 3 bedroom place. I obviously want to live in the city, preferably close to UC. I really enjoy the Ludlow area and have a friend who lives there now. Definitely wouldn't mind living around there. Any Clifton-Corryville-Heights area or even Norwood-Oakley-Hyde Park information would be greatly appreciated. Of course, I am a student and so are my roommates so we need something reasonably priced. I have looked briefly but can't really find much. I knew I could come on here so..... HELP!!!!!!
January 24, 200718 yr How much do you have to spend? Gaslight is more expensive than the CUF area. I live in the ludlow area and love it. Craigslist is always a good bet, as is Citybeat classifieds. But I would try to stay away from Clifton Colony or the Forum if at all possible.
January 24, 200718 yr This looks to be a good one: http://www.apartmentfrog.com/index.cfm;jsessionid=c830e14058bc6eb73367?fuseaction=renters.displaylisting&afID=666 -Nice location -Cool looking bldg -3 bedroom -$695 a month ($695 deposit) ...you can see more details/location map/bldg image at the above link!
January 24, 200718 yr what kind of grad school. Business, law, medical? i would think that it would make a big deifference on which side of campus you would live
January 24, 200718 yr yea, unclerando is right, i am goin' in for planning. thats why i wouldn't mind living around ludlow, i have walked that walk from ludlow to the daap building before and it wasn't bad, esp when its warm out. plus, i go to osu now, so i am used to long walks. who are the main realtors around campus? here up at osu, i know all the realtors and their websites and they always have the desirable properties that i won't find on like rent.com or something. i dont mind driving to campus though, so i wouldn't mind living over in norwood/affordable hyde park. my sister had an awesome place in norwood when she went to uc and she said she only paid $235 a month. thats damn cheap if you ask me. I am willing to spend much more than that a month if it means I can live closer to campus.
January 24, 200718 yr Yeah there are five bus lines that run on ludlow and the bearcats shuttle runs there too. Getting to school is no problem, and it is a really nice walk with the park right there when the weather is nice.
January 24, 200718 yr Thank you Ink, I am on the job. I only represent a few rentals, but I am sure I can find something.
January 25, 200718 yr id still like help from others though! like to weigh all my options! :-D students at uc, who do you people go through?
January 25, 200718 yr imo around campus a realtor isn't necessary. there are always quite a few places on criagslist and a few in the enquirer and citybeat classifieds. most people i know who live around the ludlow area have done it this way.
January 25, 200718 yr I don't have any specific places to recommend, but I did get a pretty decent deal when I lived in O'Bryonville... It was easy to get to UC and I was close to most of friends who lived in either the UC area or Hyde Park/Oakley.
January 25, 200718 yr O'Bryonville is great - first neighborhood I lived in when I moved to Cincinnati ten years ago... To find our place on Ludlow, we basically walked around the gaslight district looking for signs for houses that were for rent...
