January 26, 200718 yr Stupendous! Nice work! Although it seems like that stone church has been in 3 or 4 of your threads already.
January 26, 200718 yr Cute towns in a county with the power to bring down a great city. Excellent photos though!
January 26, 200718 yr Strangely, I HAVE been to Holly, Michigan. Granted, we got lost on the way back from Saginaw/Bay City/Midland, but still...we went past some railroad tracks, went on dirt roads, and ended up at some festival in Holly. Strange place. Cute little downtowns aside, most of these cities are powered by hyper sprawl. Holly and South Lyon especially. I sometimes think these picturesque little downtown strips exist solely as holdings of the tourist brochure industry. Great shots, though.
January 26, 200718 yr Were you running away from Saginaw? Worse. Midland. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
January 2, 201015 yr Sorry to be digging up old threads but I've started going though all the pictures I have on my computer that I took in 2009 and I notice some I never posted. These are from the historic village in South Lyon. Witches Hat Depot Museum
January 3, 201015 yr Where is this in relationship to downtown? I've never seen these. I like South Lyon despite that it's overgrown is traditional downtown to become a suburban behemoth.
January 7, 201015 yr It's less then half a mile south of downtown, right off Lafayette (Pontiac Trail)
January 8, 201015 yr Great Thread!!! I've been through Holly myself (on the way to an even less-known town to the east), and thought it was pretty nice. Clawson's my fav. on this thread.
