You're preaching to the choir. We've been waiting with parched throats for this one.

At last, I will be able to perfect my flying clothesline technique.

Ah man, that really cuts down the field.  I know that Hulk Hogan really inspired me as a kid, but I don't know how many inspiring future pro wrestlers are out there.  Good luck.

Thank god it's a real wrestling school!  Many times I have been taken in by phoney-fly-by night wrestling schools!

I gone through phases of watching WWE/WWF and others over the years. recently i have begun watching it because my 9 yr old son likes it.

So I was very surprised to see this today.

As a side note, I guess there has been a story line where McMahon as "killed" in a car bomb a few weeks ago. No mention of that story now.

Chris Benoit, Family Found Dead, RAW To Serve As Tribute

June 25th, 2007 by Brian Cantor

Chris Benoit passes away.

WWE.com reported Monday evening that Chris Benoit, along with his family, was found dead in his Atlanta home. He was forty.

WWE noted that there are no further details available. The residence is currently under investigation.

“Tonight’s Raw on USA Network will serve as a tribute to Chris Benoit and his family. WWE extends its sincerest thoughts and prayers to the Benoit family’s relatives and loved ones in this time of tragedy,” noted the official WWE website. The show was originally advertised as a “memorial” for the dead Mr. McMahon character.

All main page WWE.com references to the McMahon storyline had been removed at press time.

Update: According to the Wrestling Observer, those found dead were Benoit, wife Nancy and son Daniel.

You guys are nerds.

ugh

good luck explaining that to the 9 yr old

They found steroids and other crap all over this guy Benoit's house and the WWF is spewing denials that "roids" are in any way a part of pro-wrestling.  If it wasn't for the horrible deaths of an innocent child and his mother, that would almost be funny.

WWE Source: Benoit, Wife Argued Over Child Care

June 27th, 2007 by Brian Cantor

Daniel Benoit’s condition added tension to the marriage.

World Wrestling Entertainment attorney Jerry McDevitt confirmed, according to an Associated Press report, that wrestler Chris Benoit and wife Nancy argued over how to care for their son Daniel, who suffered from Fragile X Syndrome, in the days leading up to the double homicide-suicide.

“I think it’s fair to say that the subject of caring for that child was part of what made their relationship complicated and difficult, and it’s something they were both constantly struggling with,” said McDevitt. “We do know it was a source of stress and consternation.”

While Nancy did not want Chris to quit wrestling, she did ask that he spend more time at home to assist with caring for the child.

McDevitt said, “[she] wanted him to be at home more to care for the kid. She’d say she can’t take care of him by himself when he was on the road.”

They also argued about where to send the boy to school.

According to those investigating the case, Chris Benoit killed his wife and son before taking his own life over the weekend. The bodies were discovered Monday.

That is so sad and so disgusting. In the past week, we've had a police officer caught for murdering his girlfirend and baby in Canton, a girl's feet cut off on a free-fall ride at Six Flags Kentucky, an Arizona woman tortured and branded "snitch" on her face, and now this. Only in America...

Yes, horrible things don't happen in other parts of the world.  All is roses in Iraq, Darfur, and Rio right now.

^ Yes, it's not as if America is falling apart. It's crime, it happens in Canada, Mexico, and Europe too.

You would not believe how many actually believed that McMahon was _killed in real life_ when his car blew up.

For a real adventure, look in on a WWE online chat. I used to sit in on the AOL WWF chats......

Web Time Stamps Indicate Nancy Benoit's Death Reported on Web at Least 13 Hours Before Police Found Bodies in Her Home

Thursday , June 28, 2007

By Blane Bachelor

An anonymous user operating a computer traced to Stamford, Conn. — home to World Wrestling Entertainment — posted an entry to pro wrestler Chris Benoit's biography on Wikipedia.org announcing the death of his wife Nancy at least 13 hours before police in suburban Atlanta said they found her body along with her husband's and that of their 7-year-old son, FOXNews.com has learned.

Employees at Wikipedia.org said the posting went live on their site on Monday at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. Police, however, said they found the bodies Monday at 2:30 p.m. EDT.

The posting reads: “Chris Benoit was replaced by [[Johnny Nitro]] for the ECW Championship match at Vengeance, as Benoit was not there due to personal issues, stemming from the death of his wife Nancy.” According to a Wikipedia.org report published after FOXNews.com made inquiries, the edit was reversed just under one hour later with the comment:

"Need a reliable source. Saying that his wife died is a pretty big statement, you need to back it up with something."

The posting apparently was made in reference to Benoit's scheduled appearance on Sunday night at an Extreme Championship Wrestling event in Texas.

An employee from Wikipedia.org told FOXNews.com that he called and left a message with investigative authorities in Fayetteville, Ga., at around 11 a.m. EDT on Tuesday, after the posting was brought to the attention of the St. Petersburg, Fla.-based Web site.

“I chat with other editors on IRC — Internet relay chat — and somebody pointed it out to me on a relay chat and that it came from a Stamford connection, and that it took place at midnight Eastern Standard Time on Monday morning,” said Wikipedia.org volunteer coordinator Cary Bass. “I called and left a message with the police department.”

The computer-generated time and date stamp of the Benoit entry are listed as 4:01, 25 June 2007. Wikipedia.org lists its entries according to Universal Time, also known as Greenwich Mean Time.

Further investigation, according to Wikipedia.com, shows that one hour after the first edit reversion, another anonymous edit by 125.63.148.173 using unwiredAustralia.com.au, a wireless Internet service provider, was made adding about the aforementioned personal issues: "which according to several pro wrestling websites is attributed to the passing of Benoit's wife, Nancy."

That edit was reverted less than 20 minutes later, with the following comment: "Saying 'several pro wrestling websites' is still not reliable information." The second edit was made by a computer in Australia from a wireless network, according to Wikipedia.org.

A message left by FOXNews.com with Lt. Tommy Pope of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department was not immediately returned.

Investigators so far have ruled the Benoit killings as a double homicide-suicide.

Wikipedia.org claims to be one of the largest reference Web sites, and is written collaboratively by users from around the world. Approved users can make submissions and change entries that are posted on the site almost immediately. Bass said the site is constantly monitored to correct inaccuracies.

Bass said when there is a high-profile case, such as the Benoit killlings, Wikipedia.org limits postings to registered users, which is now indicated at the top of the Benoit entry. According to the listed history on the Benoit entry, the computer used to post the 12:01 a.m. entry had a Stamford, Conn., Internet Protocol — or IP — address, a numeric designation that is assigned to every computer with an Internet connection, and that same address has been used to post about a dozen other messages on the site, dating back to May 16, 2007.

In related news, FOXNews.com also has learned, through widely posted Web reports, that former pro wrestler Sherri Martel, who was found dead on June 15, was linked to former wrestler Kevin Sullivan — ex-husband of Nancy Benoit.

Click here to read more about the death of Sherri Martel.

Martel, who had a reputation as one of the top managers in pro wrestling, was found dead at her mother’s home in near Birmingham, Ala., on June 15. She was 49.

Investigators, who have not yet determined Martel's cause of death, say foul play is not suspected but that Martel did not die of natural causes.

All is roses in Iraq, Darfur, and Rio right now.

And who started Iraq? Who ignores Sudan? Rio? well, Brazil will always be beauty and violence...

The Mesopotamians.  Everyone.  Yeah, I agree.

^^So this suggests that Benoit was contributing to his own Wiki page? This would be consistent with reports of "strange text messages" he was sending to friends around the estimated time of the crime.

Cree-pee.

^^^ But Beniot was in Georgia, so someone else from the WWE in Stanford would have to have done it.

It was a hoax.

Wikinews: Wikipedia Editor Apologizes For Benoit Post

June 29th, 2007 by Brian Cantor

Says it was a coincidence.

The anonymous individual who edited Chris Benoit’s Wikipedia entry Monday morning to include a mention of wife Nancy’s death prior to discovery of the bodies in the Benoit family tragedy sent an apology for his actions to the Wikimedia community.

The apology, which was posted on Wikinews, includes a claim that what he posted was mere speculation that coincidentally turned out to be correct.

It is included in its entirety below:

“Hey everyone. I am here to talk about the wikipedia comment that was left by myself. I just want to say that it was an incredible coincidence. Last weekend, I had heard about Chris Benoit no showing Vengeance because of a family emergency, and I had heard rumors about why that was. I was reading rumors and speculation about this matter online, and one of them included that his wife may have passed away, and I did the wrong thing by posting it on wikipedia to spite there being no evidence. I posted my speculation on the situation at the time and I am deeply sorry about this, and I was just as shocked as everyone when I heard that this actually would happen in real life. It is one of those things that just turned into a huge coincidence. That night I found out that what I posted, ended up actually happening, a 1 in 10,000 chance of happening, or so I thought. I was beyond wrong for posting wrongful information, and I am sorry to everyone for this. I just want everyone to know it was stupid of me, and I will never do anything like this again. I just posted something that was at that time a piece of wrong unsourced information that is typical on wikipedia, as it is done all the time.

Nonetheless, I feel incredibly bad for all the attention this got because of the fact that what I said turned out to be the truth. Like I said it was just a major coincidence, and I will never vandalize anything on wikipedia or post wrongful information. I’ve learned from this experience. I just can’t believe what I wrote was actually the case, I’ve remained stunned and saddened over it.

I wish not to reveal my identity so I can keep me and my family out of this since they have nothing to do with anything. I am not connected to WWE or Benoit at all in anyway. I am from Stamford as the IP address shows, and I am just an everyday individual who posted a wrongful remark at the time that received so much attention because it turned out to actually happen. I will say again I didn’t know anything about the Benoit tragedy, it was a terrible coincidence that I never saw coming.

I hope this puts an end to this speculation that someone knew about the tragedy before it was discovered. It was just a rumor that I had heard about from other people online who were speculating what the family emergency Chris was attending to. I made a big mistake by posting this comment on his page, since all we had were what we thought was going on and nothing about what actually was going on yet, and sadly what happened turned out to be my speculation at the time. I assumed wiki would edit out my information, which they did, so thats why I didn’t go back to edit it out myself.

I know I keep repeating it but I feel terrible about the mainstream coverage this has received, since it was only a huge coincidence and a terrible event that should of never happened. I am not sure how to react, as hearing about my message becoming a huge part of the Benoit slayings made me feel terrible as everyone believes that it is connected to the tragedy, but it was just an awful coincidence. That is all I have to say, I will never post anything here again unless it is pure fact, no spam nothing like that. Thank you, and let this end this chapter of the Benoit story, and hopefully one day we will find out why this tragedy ever actually happened.”

My faith in professional wrestling and its fans has been restored.

You forgot the Congo and Indonesia

(Slightly kidding, but you know what I'm getting at.)  Its pretty brutal all around.  You really have to look to find some of it though.

Quoted for truth

Though I would say it to all people.

I would watch Fox News if Sean Hannity would wrestle one guest a week.

So I took the kids to BW3 on Sunday to see the Summer Slam PPV. They really wanted to see Undertaker and his Hell in the Cell match with Edge (Don't ask why I know all this). It was all ok, mostly predictable.

What was really off the hook was the Hell in a Cell match. It was more like Hell in a Cell and TLC all put together. Kickin'!!

Of course, Dead Man kicked Edge's ass. After he left the ring and went to the curtain, he turned around, saw edge was still twitching, went back to the ring and set up a ladder. He then proceeded to give Edge a Choke slam from Hell from the top of the ladder and put him through the ring floor. Ok, I've seen that before... nothing to shocking. Cool, but not shocking. He then did the raise-arms-roll-back-eyes thing, threw his hands down toward the new hole in the ring where Edge formerly made contact with and huge fiery balls came from said hole. Not just one or two... many! I lost count.

I just thought that was a fine presentation of fakeness.

I never, ever watch wrestling, but the other day I walk into my room, and my roomate is watching WWE or WWF (don't know the difference).  I actually watched for about 10 minutes, and strangely enough, that shit is oddly entertaining! The story lines are more dramatic than a soap opera, and it's all so fake that it's fairly comical!

Anyone else remember Roller Games?  It was only on for one season, but it was incredible.  It's one of those things almost nobody remembers, like the Tranzor Z boob missiles.  It came on super-late on Saturday nights and you barely ever got to see the alligator pit, but yeah, they really brought an alligator out onto the center of the figure-8 course!  I remember one of the stars was called "The Icebox", and they used to launch people up that high wall where sometimes they'd flip over the rail.  It was way, way better than the current roller derby revival.

Yeah so I joined a gym, and they have TV's on basically every piece of cardio gear.  I've been watching wrestling whenever it's on.  There's a lot of fine women at this gym -- it's my way to stand out.
