The site was moved to a new server by our host without letting us know before hand.  Some people may go to urbanohio.com and it refreshes to lunarpages.com.........if that happens restart your computer and it will work.

Anyone else having problems this evening? Around 10 p.m. EST, sometimes I click on a forum section and sit for more than a minute without it opening. Other times, or maybe other sections, sometimes it opens OK.

I don't think the problem is on my system. Task manager says my CPU is running between 0 and 2 percent, and my memory usage is < 500mb out of 3gb total on my machine. I powered down everything including my router, checked all my connections, and rebooted, and still UO forums sometimes seem to freeze. I can open other URLs and navigate in them just fine.

Of course, everything's working fine right now.

Nope

I'll have times when the forum just kind of...stops.  Ill have to close out and open IE again.

^^ I had the same issue with my home computer. My work computer was fine so I knew it was not a problem with UO.

Here is what worked for me:

In IE 7, click Tools > Internet options > Security > Reset all zones to Default level

Also try clearing your browser's cache.

Today between 10 pm and midnight we will have scheduled downtime. Please plan your day accordingly.  :)

Crap... Look's like I'll have to find something else to do in those two hours. :-( :-P

What type of clock does UO use?  :?  :-o   :-P

The site was only down a few minutes they said. But our firewall started it's self up and blocked everyone until it was uninstalled.  2 hours... 12 hours.... it's close enough.

I was just now able to log on.

Jesus - I was starting to get the shakes and see bugs on the wall.  UO withdrawal is an ugly adventure.

I thought I got banned lol!

I'm not Rich, but Urban Ohio's host's servers (I'm on the same host) tend to run on central time, as the support guy lives in Manitoba.

Damn them!

I'm getting this message.  Whats going on?

Connection Problems

Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.

Nothing that I know of, maybe a hiccup.

OK.  It happened for like 20 min. or so.  I would post, then get the message.  hit refresh, then be able to read another thread, then it would happen again.

I just wanted to alert you in case of a real issue.  :)

The forum was down from 2am till 10am today.  The messages portion of the database had to be repaired.  I was notified via email by two people this time (around 9:30) Thanks!

What in the world is going on with the site now?

Crazy high load averages.  First it was our spam software that tried to auto update and hung.  Hopefully it's rolling smooth soon.  Today has been a headache!

Do you need Dan to beg for more money?  ;)

Rich I can tell you I wholeheartedly feel your pain right now. Did you talk to Christian about this issue? It's impressive, to say the least. Also, your messages table isn't the only SMF messages table to be corrupted. I'm in that boat too.

Hey people, take a hint!  Actually its not running slow for supporting members!

Make a contribution and watch your speed increase right before your eyes!

The issue seems to be worked out now.  Just to let you guys know, it was nothing I did to the server.  A good number of other sites were having the same issue until our hosting provider fixed the issue.

I actually got work done at work for once :(

I'm really sorry about that.. :)

Uh, YOU'RE the self-admitted Barneys-shopping label-ho rich b!tch around this joint - YOU cough it up, missy!

I donated sugar!  I don't see any colored stars under your name.  Dan, get'em!

Intermittently sluggish this morning. After I clicked on the "Forum Issues" topic, it took 20 seconds to open. There have been other instances, too; that's the only one I timed.

I'm zipping along today. I guess I should go clean some threads since I won't have the "I'm ADD and the 10s it takes to load the editor causes me to run off and do something else" excuse.

Intermittently very sluggish this morning around 11:00 - 11:30. Sometimes it helps to exit the browser entirely, and come back in, but when I tried it this morning, I couldn't get back in at all. Using IE8, FIOS 10/2 connection and didn't have any problem accessing any of the other sites I frequent.

Has anyone else had problems accessing the site during weekday mornings lately?  I'm talking I cannot get on UO religiously as of late between 9am and 1pm.

^I've been having trouble all day today, but I wasn't sure if it was the computer or the site. I haven't had time to try to be on much the last couple days though.

I've had some problems on weekday mornings lately as well

Anyone know why I am unable to access UO from UC's campus on my laptop? I can get on at home and on other wireless networks, but no UC.

I notice it runs faster for me at work

1. Because my office network is faster

2. Because our firewall removes all advertising.

Every now and then, UO will completely refuse to load for me on UC's network.

Are you guys getting any error messages while using UC's network?  Or is it just not loading at all?

It says something to the effect of "The Server Urbanohio.com could not be found"

I'm still having issues accessing the site from about 9am-1pm from Case Western's network.  It says the site cannot be found (the general IE error message when a site is down, not the UO-created server busy message).
