This building looks great, and I only wish it was the original height with this look at the bottom. This should also be a standard for the ground floor of most buildings in the area.
July 5, 20231 yr Snagged a pic of King and high today. This has turned out pretty great, just wish it was taller.
August 10, 20231 yr The construction barriers have been cleared away at The Verve. I think it looks great! Looks like it’s starting to wrap up just in time for the fall semester. I noticed the project a couple blocks north at W 8th is in a similar rush. The retail portions might not be ready but they gotta rent those apartments ASAP.

Also, did the project re-use the facades of the original buildings on the corner of King & High and along King? It looks like it, but I can't recall if its original or recreated.

I think it's recreated. The original brick was a bit more yellow as I recall.
August 10, 20231 yr Or they did that thing where they rub other bricks against some of the bricks to give it a pattern then seal it. That's what they do at SSU to give all the brick buildings the same look.

It’s on the corner of Michigan and Buttles in the Harrison Place area. It looks like it’s been abandoned at least a year or two, so my guess is maybe it had something to do with covid? Anyone have any updates on this long stalled-out project at 840 Michigan? With so much else moving forward in this neighborhood, it seems strange and unfortunate that this property remains a partially-built eyesore. At this point, it would be better off as greenspace if the developer has gone bankrupt and nothing else is going to happen with it. I mean, yes, I'm sure there's some legal/funding hold-up, and also, it's been like this now for years.

It's mentioned in this article from last December: https://columbusunderground.com/two-long-planned-development-projects-moving-forward-in-harrison-west-bw1/
February 13, 20241 yr St. Paul’s Baptist church comes down on 1st Ave in Harrison West. I believe the land is owned by Roby so I expect it to be single family home infill.

That’s a pretty big lot and some townhomes would do really great there.
April 30, 20241 yr That corner looks great, except for the Kroger parking lot. By my recollection, that lawn was supposed to be a two story building eventually....
