The Enquirer/Cara Owsley HARRISON - Phoenix Park belongs to history. And the home's owner aims to keep it that way. Rich Torbeck's name may be on the deed to this 22-room, 153-year-old Victorian Italianate villa. He may have spent thousands of dollars and hours restoring the home after a 1990 tornado toppled its tower and scalped its slate roof. He and his wife, Jan, and their five children may have kept the home and its original cherry woodwork, gilded moldings and first-growth pine floors in pristine condition. February 13, 200718 yr the house is gorgeous. the torbecks are very close friends of the family, my mom and jan, the wife, were sorority sisters and both moved to harrison and stayed close friends. I remember when they bought it in 1990 and then the tornado of '90 hit right after they bought it. I was only 5 but def. remember being scared in the house. Luckily, the house didn't get hurt too much but couldn't say the same for the homes around it. It is surrounded by very small, wood frame, ugly homes but I love the house and the huge garage/side house.
