So my boyfriend found out his workplace was open today - wanting to provide moral support, I decided to go with him. In a foot of snow. I'd say I've earned some brownie points. I have to say that RTA did a good job of getting us from Tremont to downtown - getting stuck only once (how often have you seen an RTA bus get stuck??). So being the geek that I am, I decided to snap a few pics:

I don't think too many pedestrians will be on the Lorain-Carnegie bridge today:

A few hardy souls were out on Public Square:

Well I finally made it:

Since there aren't too many people at work today, I take a break and head up to the twentieth floor of my building:

I doubt the tennis courts on the roof of the One Cleveland Center garage will be getting much use today:

East 9th isn't looking too pretty as it heads north to the Lake:

The big white dome isn't snow, it's an enclosed soccer field for Cleveland State University:

Even on a day like today, some City Hall workers take a smoke break:

I always liked this view of the Cuyahoga County Courthouse, Browns Stadium and City Hall:

Sorry about the blurry shots - the snow was coming down harder on this side of the building:

Even the folks in the Pinnacle Condos have to shovel - their balconies:

One last pic of the Courthouse and I have to grab lunch - stay warm out there! :-)

I just walked from E12th to Tower City and back. Talk about a winter wonderland adventure. It was great!

PS, I really like the mural on the side of that food market wherever it is.

Great photos MayDay, thanks for sharing.

Love the views in these pics... especially these 2!!

Beautiful job!

Cool! I'm at work today downtown too. My bus (the #1) came right on time -- though I left at 10:30 instead of my usual 8:30!

That was really nice of you to accompany your boyfriend to work... Must be Valentines Day. ;)

Nice pics. Mayday.  I got out of Cleveland, just in time and back to D.C., although we had a couple inches of sleet and ice last night, which even closed the airports.  Yes, Scott Radke did a number of murals in Tremont (also the building facing the patio of the Southside)  I have a sculpture/doll by him.

ooh i was hoping somebody would do a thread -- great pics.

i saw before i went to work that cleveland was featured on the today show this morning, very blustery shots.

Love love love that angle.

Quite a winter wallop! Nice pics.

Wow...the Fifth Third Shot is the shiznit!

Thanks MayDay for the pics., specially the one looking down 9th to the lake. I had worked in the federal building until retiring two years ago and enjoyed looking out the north windows and watching the lake change with the seasons. Loved seeing the lake frozen over and seeing watching the snow come in from Canada.  :-D Bear hugz to all.

Great photos! Seeing downtown with so little traffic and activity on a weekday is really strange.

Love love love that angle.

Yeah, it's interesting that since Cleveland has a few towers which really stand out when viewed from a distance, it takes your eye away from all the mid-rise development and gives the downtown a less dense appearance than what is actually the case.

LA has the same thing going on as the towers around Bunker Hill draw the eye away from all the dense mid-rise development East of the core.

All in all, superb job!

Agreed with ColDay and Oldmanladyluck (edit: and LAsam!) on that one angle... and nice shots all around!

Thats pretty cool that they have tennis courts on top of that garage!  I've heard of rooftop pools, decks, even bball courts...but this is a first for me...definately cool!

please treat us to some more "neighborhoods in snow" shots... like Tremont and Edgewater!
