The owner seems to be Greg Bodnar.  There is only one Greg Bodnar registered to vote in Ohio and he's a registered Republican, so who knows?  I find it hard to believe he'd be dumb enough business-wise to do this, even if he is a Trump supporter himself.  FWIW, he was pretty outspoken about not wanting Market Ave. closed last summer, so he doesn't seem to mince words.  So I guess it's possible???

True.  I'm guessing that maybe they were targeted because the owner is conservative, but I highly doubt he'd post that.  Maybe the 8 people who liked the roach picture would give a clue.

I'm going to guess that the cockroach coffee mug tells the story on that one.

Nope. Can't find any info on it anywhere.

Looks like Koffie Cafe got their Instagram account back under control.

Anyone know what’s going into this newly painted black building just West of Platform on the south side of Lorain?? There’s been workers there non-stop for about a week

I just saw on Platform Brewery's social media that they are expanding and creating some sort of shipping container beer garden here

The former used car lot's address is 4157 Lorain Ave.  I would guess it's a different project.

For what it's worth, the last recorded transfer occurred almost 3 years ago in 2017 when the current owner became widowed.

Sounds like the former car lot moved to 7807 Union Ave, Cleveland, OH 44105 between 2014 and 2015.

A long time to without a lease and pretty good conditions to make selling attractive as the Condos have gone in behind it and development has heated up.

Great find!

The former Cleveland Vibrator lot (owned by Snavely) is no longer being used for Snavely’s construction parking.

The entire lot has been cleared and leveled and now has several stakes/markings in the ground across the entire space. Any ideas what might be happening here?

Surface lot? (Jk, kind of ?

I know the investors were flexible on their development plans but I don’t remember seeing anything definitive.

Source or just a hunch?

@KJP’s original article quoted Joe Kubic (Adcom CEO and site investor) as saying:

Myself and other investors, including the Snavely Group, are in the process of buying the Cleveland Vibrator site. We haven't determined what we are going to do with it yet, but we hope to soon. It's a great site, in a great community and we are excited to continue to explore our options there.

I hadn’t seen any mockups or confirmed plans but it’s definitely possible that I missed it amidst the many Hingetown developments.

The Vibrator company parking lot is being taken over by Saucy Brew Works.  They are putting in a large beer garden with volleyball courts, etc

My understanding is it is temporary (just for this year).  Snavely is planning to demo the vibrator company buildings at the end of the year.

Would be even better if they could get city approval to close off that section of Church (between 28th and 29th) to traffic.

That would make for a fantastic Hingetown entertainment epicenter.

Looks like they plan to open the new beer garden on Thursday:

Vibe Garden set to open at Saucy Brew Works this month

https://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/2020/07/vibe-garden-set-to-open-at-saucy-brew-works-this-month.html

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Saucy Brew Works is planning to open its Vibe Garden, an outdoor beer garden near the Detroit Avenue brewery in Cleveland on Thursday, July 16.

The garden will open at 5 p.m. on the opening night of a sand-volleyball league.

The garden is located on Church Avenue, catty-corner and southeast of the brewery.

When is the last time I-71 turned a profit?

"Vibe Garden?"  I think I hate it without knowing anything else about it.

It has to pay homage to its roots somehow.  Vibrator Garden would definitely have a better ring.  "Have a good time in Vibrator Garden!"

That just sounds wrong to me...or maybe I just have a dirty mind ?????

It just sounds like Townhall style douchebaggery whenever I hear someone talk about "vibes".  It's like the cast of Jersey Shore trying to sound spiritual.

As if the name “Saucy” wasn’t bad enough.

As someone who lives on Church, this is somewhat surprising because their beer garden doesn't even look close to being ready. It’s currently still a pile of dirt with some wood supports in the ground.

No volleyball courts have been poured, etc.

Meant to post earlier this weekend but we officially (kind of) have a roundabout, folks.

Dexter Place fits that locations so beautifully. It even fits well with the houses next door. I can't wait to see what (if any) landscaping they will have inside the circle. Maybe someone like OCI or one of the block clubs can take over the management of it, since I don't believe we'd have great long term results if the maintenance is left to the city (see the Ontario St median). I also wonder how long before we see some complementary development on the NE side of the circle.

Funny.  When I viewed this picture yesterday for the first time the same thought popped in my head...I hoped the city was not going to be responsible for the maintenance of the landscaping in the circle.  Also kinda sad that we both had the same reaction.

A wider view

From what we've seen on Public Square, the precedent shows those jersey barriers could very well be permanent!

Have to say I don’t get this patio extension onto the street at all. West 25th is traffic heavy all day and night.  Who will want to sit next to all that traffic noise and exhaust fumes.? Gives me a headache just thinking about it

This looks better than tremont; I saw barriers there on Sunday and they put them right next to the curb. Now what is the point of that ?

And not to be a narc lol but the useless traffic control “cops” all just piled into a van together without a mask in sight ??‍♂️

I still don't understand how cities like Cincinnati implemented these changes in mere days but it took us several months.

Just another example of how our city has managed to overcome in the face of incompetent leadership. Imagine how high we'd be flying with a mayor who was actually present.

With some added touches like landscaping, it can really change the environment. I sat on a patio next to a 5 lane street a couple weeks ago and had no problem forking over a nice sum of money in exchange for great atmosphere and food.

From my walk with the pup this morning - looks like the basements are getting set for the townhomes on 48th between Franklin and Detroit

Like the slight dig at Tony George in the last paragraph.  I hope what ever governmental entity responsible for land acquisition for the project does not over pay for that parcel he owns and even better it turns into an eminent domain action.  As I have argued before, George more or less established the fair market price with his purchase of the building in 2018 (with knowledge of the project) so in the end it should be a wash.  In fact I hope he loses money due to attorneys fees and a few years of property taxes on a building creating no revenue.

Another way that he will pretend to be victimized.

Didn’t see any mention of estimated timing for demo to start unless I missed it. Also, anyone (@KJP) have information on the demolition of the Front Steps building?

Some of the residents have already started moving to the newly built location down 25th.

Seeing how fast the Battery Park demo went this morning, it would be a shame if the demolition crews taking down the two buildings on West 25th for Irishtown Bend Park accidentally demolished George's property while they're there.

I can picture the Townhall PR response already: "This was clearly a targeted and vicious attack on those who refuse to blindly be sheep to the Cleveland establishment. Bone broth cures cancer by the way."
