Keep seeking the best possible design approaches for urban multifamily housing. Continue to demand development that does more than just add bodies. Rather, push for those great intangibles that make city life the best it can be; timeless quality, harmonious setbacks, approachable pedestrian scale, detail, interest, character, and flavor. May 18, 20214 yr To me, it gives the illusion that they’re somewhat independent of each other, like it’s ALMOST a single family, yet, it’s one building. I’m fine with it. All of a sudden, after years of ownership and neglect, Kassouff come's up with this grand development project for his adjacent land. Like George, the "project" was just pretty pictures and was a ploy to increase the value of the property in the ultimate eminent domain proceedings. Does George think people are idiots or what? It's possible the stabilization itself could need to be two phases, depending on how much it ends up costing vs. funds available. They are working off a $9 million federal grant they got two years ago, and a mishmash of other state and local funds. So, we're still a ways away from a park, but progress is actually happening. June 9, 20214 yr As expressed above, funding (actually lack there of) is driving the schedule for the project, but if possible, and money can be found, it would be great if the design work for the actual park could be initiated and completed while the stabilization work is on going rather than waiting until that work is completed to speed things up. It seems that often (especially public projects) design takes longer than the actual construction.
