What are your thoughts on the most diverse place in the city?

I know Findlay Market will be very high on everyone's list, so I am going to go with Mr. Pitifull's.

Mr. Pitiful's is also on mine.  I thought of it when I saw the headline before I even opened this thread!

We brought one of our suburban friends to Mr. Pitiful's a few weeks ago.  He even commented that he was impressed by the diversity.

^How is Mr. Pitiful's (what kind of atmosphere)...I've been intrigued and have wanted to go there, but unfortunately haven't gotten around to it yet.

It is an excellent place.  Great exposed brick, not too loud you can't talk, but it still has a nice energy.  I am a big fan.

Pitiful's was my go to spot for, oh, 3 or 4 years. Maybe it was just me, but I think it used to be much, much better. It was probably the bar tenders. Ton of great memories there, from post Opening Day revelry to watching belly dancers with David Wells.

I was at mr. Pitiful's for the first time at Mid-Point Music Festival and really liked it.  Loved the vibe.

This is a great summary.  Also, the bartenders are great.  The owner is cool.  You only have to go once or twice, and he remembers you forever.  They also have some good beers on tap, including Blue Moon and Barrelhouse.

This'll sound like a cop-out answer, but for diversity packed into surface area, I wouldn't imagine you could beat UC...

not really in the city but Jungle Jims attracts a diverse crowd.

^ not to mention the widely diverse products at jj's. wow.

Barrelhouse's Boss Cox ale is like crack cocaine. Can't get enough of it, and I've only found it at Pitifuls. Bob is great, bartenders are great, atmosphere is great, and i concur, easily the most diverse bar i populate.

Any Waffle House after the bars close.

Kaldis has three barrellhouse, mt carmel stout, two Christian morliens, and hudy delight on draft, but I don't know if they have boss cox.  I think uncle woody's has boss cox on draft.

Has anyone been to Mr. Pitifuls recently?  I'm looking to go out somewhere new, but I don't want to go to a place that is strickly a "dance club".  I was thinking club cue because I was under the impression it was a bar\pool hall, but it seems to be more of a dance club.

Definitely miss those bartendresses.

The most diverse place is probably the BMV as everyone is required to go there whether they want to or not. As for places people want to go to, Findlay Market and a lot of other places in OTR would definitely be high on the list!

Last time I went there, someone changed their kid's diaper in the booth next to us!

^ Good point. You'll find every type of individual at Findlay Market ... based on ethnicity and cultural.

Not people who take the bus, walk, etc.

Isn't that where you would go for a state registered ID?  Just about everyone has one of those whether they drive or not.

I think you're still required to have a state ID and have it updated whenever you change your address.

Ah yes.

It's alright...from my understanding state registered IDs aren't really required up there in Oxford.  More so a wild west type environment when it comes to drinking and what not.

No, we just all drive. Alot. :-(

It's been a couple of months since we've been there.  It's a good place.  Relaxing atmosphere, and the owner remembers everyone.  It's not a dance club at all.  It's a place where you can actually have a conversation with people.
