Posted February 24, 200718 yr Behold.... Corryville, from Jefferson Ave. OoOoh! New tax abated development on the end! UC's Varsity Village More Corryville Urrgh, glass in the way...
February 24, 200718 yr Can't argue with you there. Although (if you're familiar with UC) Dabney is by far the worst. That and Crosley Tower need to be be demolished. I need to move off campus a little bit..just not sure where. University Park Apts would be be awesome... I'm already sold with Ben and Jerrys underneath.
February 24, 200718 yr Gaslight Clifton is a great neighborhood and it is really easy to get to UC from the 17 18 19 39 51 busses, walking or biking, and the UC shuttle.
February 24, 200718 yr Nice "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
February 25, 200718 yr Very cool...sorry you're back in student housing, but at least we fellow forumers get to benefit from it! Man, I lived on the 12th floor of Calhoun in 1990/1991...I could see EVERYTHING from my dorm room - I could watch traffic come down the cut in the hill and across the Brent Spence Bridge, and after a particularly bad storm, I didn't have a screen getting in the way of the view for a few months - and still I didn't take any pictures. Goddamnit, I was a moron when I was 18...
February 25, 200718 yr wow great views. i wish i would have thought to do this....wait a sec, why would i have wanted pics of the crummy bgsu rec center?
February 25, 200718 yr >I could see EVERYTHING Where I was as a freshman, we were only about 30ft. across from the girls' tower, if you know what I mean...
February 25, 200718 yr Nice, I took some similar pics when I stayed on the twelfth floor there last year. Its too bad they closed off the roof deck. Anyway watch out for the roaches!!!
February 26, 200718 yr It was about 30 feet: We only had one pay phone per floor ($2.75 for a 3 minute long-distance call), nobody had a cell phone, no internet (there were only two computers on the whole campus with internet access, accessed through this ridiculously clumsy browser program called "Trumpet" and the tech had to log you on and you only got 20 minutes), 2 or 3 geeks had computers in their room, one ping-pong table, we had two vending machines, and this was when cafeterias looked like cafeterias instead of ripping off Starbuck's. But we did have beer, marijuana, tobacco, loud music, and a building full of pretty girls right across the way.
February 26, 200718 yr Why all the Crosley hate? Because its hideous. In fact that entire side of UC's campus (sans DAAP), is hideous. The library, Rhodes, Riveschl, Crosley, and the geo and physics building.
February 26, 200718 yr I wouldn't say all that... I like that side of the campus--the worst building besides Crosley is the business school. I think UC is very diverse and interesting in its urban form. Whenever I go to Northwestern I wish UC was more wooded but with all the futuristic buildings we have now, it probably wouldn't look appropriate.
