First off, I'll disqualify myself since I'll be handling the nominations.

Everyone is entitled to six (6) nominations, which are to be sent in a PM to inkaelin. All nominations will be tallied on March 9th (Have nominations in by 1 a.m.) and the top five most nominated forumers will be voted upon by the UrbanOhio community.

This year, the winner receives absolutely NOTHING, except the title of "2006 Unofficial Forumer of the Year" and the warm feeling that comes therein.

DO NOT nominate admins/mods, we will vote separately for "Moderator of the Year," with all making the ballot.

Start nominating!

Pope Edit: Grasscat is not eligible, since a) he won it last year and b) its pretty damn obvious he's very deserving again

Grasscat Edit: Please vote by private message ONLY.

Thanks for taking the initiative, ink.

If nominated I promise to do my best to serve the good people of Urbanohio.

I also promise candy machines for the cafeteria.

And whores. Lots and lots of whores.

^No insult was intended...I was just drawing a blank after those initial six...so I threw out a wild card.  I feel that regardless of the RIDICULOUS things you say on here....you contribute a hell of a lot, and cover an area of the state that would otherwise be ignored.  I appreciate it!

The feeling is mutual. :)

:drunk: :fight:

Shouldn't we be voting by private message instead of in the thread?  Votes can be affected/changed this way.

Please PM your picks to ink.

Posts with picks may be deleted soon, so PM him even if you've voted in this thread.

i don't think that you'll get too many votes this way. a lot of people only check the "Show unread posts since last visit" and that would keep them from being reminded to vote.

Also, if you are going to do this, I think it would be better to create categories for each city or region. I really don't know a thing about anyone who posts mainly on the Columbus or Cincy threads

^Ideally, the person recognized should be participating in statewide discussions, not just one city or topic, imo. This site is largely based on state unity, which is why suggestiongs to divide thread/board topics by region have been repeatedly rejected.

This is the way it was done for 2005, and it worked fine.

Okay: can we just name KJP Forumer of the Year 2006 and get on with it? I've already got lobbying efforts on hold for the 2007 vote.

I guess you can feel free to categorize all you want in this thread, but I'll only count the six names you PM me. ;)

^ Yeah, no one really listens (reads).

Hey ink, you should probably set a time limit on when voting stops.  Maybe a week or two.

OK...

I've deleted posts relating to votes.

If you voted in a post on here, don't worry.  I have sent the contents of those posts to inkaelin.

Also, to address 3231's issue, I will be sending out a reminder on March 2 (1 week before voting ends) to everyone's PM.  Everyone who is a member of this forum will see this when they log in.  Hopefully this will be enough to alert them to this contest.

Please continue to vote via PM to inkaelin, and not on this page.  Please feel free to campaign or to trash talk, though!

I refuse to participate in an election that does not include grasscat as an option.

Yeah, I remember you saying the same thing in '04...

OK...

Is it actual voting that we are doing now...or nominating.  I thought we were just nominating right now, then when that was done the Top 5 or whatever would be put as options in a poll topic.

BTW,

VOTE UNCLERANDO

I was under the same impression, except for the "vote unclerando" thing

OOPS...yeah, it's nominating, not voting.  Thanks for catching that.

Also, I couldn't figure out how to PM all members of the forum.  So I guess it would be best if we could just bump this thread from time to time until March 9, so that it will show up in the unread posts.

Bump...

Remember, March 9th by 1 AM!

So what are our final votes?

Yeah, ink...when can we expect the poll?

Did you overdo it on Green Beer Day?  :D

No comment. I can't believe I forgot!

Coming right up!
