Did any one hear that it they are closing 100 stores? 2 in the columbus area? We can get good deals out of this.

There goes my 3 year warranty with CompUSA on my computer ;\

I've heard the Dayton Mall location is closing as well.

^wow serious?? I goto that store if they were out of stock of something at the store in tri-county.

I saw beachwood and I think north olmstead.

CompUSA closings spare Cincinnati

The local CompUSA outlet has been spared in a restructuring that will close 126 of the retailer's stores across the United States.

 

CompUSA announced its list of store closings Thursday. The Dallas-based computer and electronics chain will close four stores in Ohio -- two in the Cleveland area and two in Columbus. Those stores will be shuttered over the next 60 to 90 days.

 

The CompUSA store on Princeton Pike in the Tri-County area will remain open, as will the Dayton store. No closings were announced in Kentucky, where CompUSA operates locations in Lexington and Louisville.

CompUSA Inc. is leaving Columbus.

 

Spokeswoman Jessica Nunez said Thursday the stores at Easton Market and off Sawmill Road, along with two in Cleveland, are among 126 outlets the company is closing nationwide.

 

The stores will be shuttered over the next 60 to 90 days.

I was just in the store in Beachwood.  It is closing as well.  Only 10% off as of Saturday.

Comp USA closing = zero loss to me.

I do all computer shopping online and keep the empty flapping heads out of it.

DALLAS — Consumer electronics retailer CompUSA said Friday it will close its store operations after the holidays following sale of the company to Gordon Brothers Group LLC, a restructuring firm. Financial terms weren't disclosed.

 

CompUSA operates 103 stores — including a store by the Dayton Mall at 221 Springboro Pike — which plan to run store-closing sales during the holidays.

 

Privately held CompUSA, controlled by Mexican financier Carlos Slim Helu's Grupo Carso SA, said discussions were under way to sell certain stores in key markets. Stores that can't be sold will be closed.
