January 11, 200718 yr Finances in order for $50M Liberty Interchange project "What we have to sell Columbus and the governor's office on is that Butler County is a generator of jobs, which is going to make Ohio look good," said Combs who said a unified voice can help the county garner financial support for projects such as the Liberty Interchange, which Combs said could help create thousands of jobs in the area. Lets hope that these jobs are new jobs to the region and not a loss for existing areas.

January 30, 200718 yr And if and when they end up building the interchange they'll then complain about about all the congestion :?. QFT (Quoted for truth) Thats exactly what will happen. Then they'll complain to widen the roads even more. Meaningless 10 lane interchange to nowhere, here we come! -_-
January 31, 200718 yr I think they like how Union center has progress after it has been built, being the first new interchange on I-75 in 30 years. Now 2 more, this and Austin pike.
February 9, 200718 yr ^not to be overly picky, but it's Union Centre, don't ask why Yay, first post. I don't support this project, but i do feel that there is some point to it. I live in northern Mason :-( and there is no quick and easy way to get to 75 (during rush hours, that is), as Tylersville is plugged and going to 129 involves going way out of your way. Anyways, they should trash the project, but they'll just end up filling the whole area between Mason and Monroe with highway exits and interchanges so it can all fill up with sprawl. (and i hope the cox rd. extension continues the bike lane, its a first for this whole area).
March 12, 200718 yr Here is the grand idea for this interchange...we'll see if something even close to this comes about...
March 12, 200718 yr it is still mostly surface lots the roads would appear (they would almost have to be) to be large collector roads, so the pedestrian activity would be nearly zero when you factor in all the parking is probably free so people will just drive from one lot to the other. it seems like dense sprawl, but sprawl none the less.
December 13, 200717 yr I-75 exit gets under way Development expected with Liberty interchange BY AMBER ELLIS | CINCINNATI ENQUIRER December 13, 2007 LIBERTY TWP. - A groundbreaking ceremony today for the long-awaited Liberty interchange project signals what local leaders are calling the start of growth, development and an important transportation link for the fast-growing township. "It's going to be the catalyst for the commercial, economic development for Liberty Township," said Trustee Pat Hiltman. "We've broken the barriers down. ... This should be the beginning of many things to come." ...
December 13, 200717 yr Critics see the project as a precursor to Sub-urban sprawl, traffic congestion and the end of a once-rural Butler County township that has more than tripled its population to 33,000 since 1990. I think this should be qualified by adding sub- because this area is a far cry from anything remotely urban. This project is Liberty Twnship's effort to create jobs (and taxes) to pay for all the exurban single-family mess that they've created.
December 18, 200816 yr New I-75 exit in the works http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20081217/NEWS01/312170098/1055/NEWS Workers on Wednesday installed one of several signs along I-75 that eventually will guide drivers to new exit ramps from I-75 onto Hamilton-Mason Road. December 18, 200816 yr What a waste! I could think of so many better ways to spend $41M. highways cost money?
December 18, 200816 yr What a waste! I could think of so many better ways to spend $41M. It's funded by TIFF. Unless you live in the area it's not effecting your taxes. If this is a waste then every other interchange has been a waste. Look down the road at Union Center.
December 18, 200816 yr It's the latest step in the $41 million Liberty Interchange Project, which includes an expanded interchange and an extension of Cox Road. Where are they extending Cox Road to, 63 still? I thought that they wouldn't do that now with Four Bridges and all that other $400K+ housing built in the area, because I thought that the plan was to turn the area into an industrial park. However, I guess that they could do an endless office park type of deal, but that would still be too much commotion for the geniuses who thought that buying a $400,000 house with no historic value right by the interstate was such a good idea. Oh well.
December 18, 200816 yr What a waste! I could think of so many better ways to spend $41M. It's funded by TIFF. Unless you live in the area it's not effecting your taxes. If this is a waste then every other interchange has been a waste. Look down the road at Union Center. Like I said - there are better things to spend the money on - regardless of where it comes from.
December 18, 200816 yr That graphic shows an exit but not an entrance to the Butler County Highway. What a crying shame.
