Thanks!  Also, it looked like they had a piece of glass getting ready to go somewhere, it was being handled over on the SE side of the construction area. That will be exciting when it starts to go up!

Actually, during Paul In Cleveland and my trip around the building today, we noticed that the E.12/13th side of the building had and interesting non-bricked area that, by our best guess, is going to be a large area of windows...no? 

 

It was hard to tell from the on-site renderings...but, if you look closely at P.I.C.'s photo #1 above, you can see what I mean...just thought it was interesting.

Thanks for the info McCleveland...those images DO help shed a little light on what seemed peculiar at first glance.

 

 

...as MyTwoSense recently posted, I am kinda disappointed about how "light" the whole thing is, so perhaps the gray/slate out-set or glass would help give it more depth/color.  *shrug*

 

I too was hoping for a little darker brick, but I will reserve judgement until it's finished.  Plus don't discount the fact that each building that goes up around this uses different finishes, so it should break things up quite a bit.

i wonder why they went with the storage cubby hole instead of the storage closet on the balconies?  Looks great though...

/wishing I could afford one, that open corner floorplan looks pretty sweet, and the wall o' windows has got to offer one hell of a view...

OK, I went with tlazar39 today after lunch, and tried out my new cellphone's camera ... not bad, especially compared to the horrible old one.  :-D I think this one is 2 megapixel ...

 

Also, note in the 4th photo that you can see some windows installed on the 2nd and 3rd floors!

There are several UO members who have bought in Battery Park, but I can't remember if we have any future/current Avenue District resident representation here?  Am I forgetting anyone?

Does anyone know how many individual units there is in this project  AND  how does this breakdown per floor?

I'm a future townhome owner!  You didn't exactly forget me cause I'm new here....  But we'll be moving into our townhome in the second building in July.  Just had our electrical walk-through yesterday!

What's that under construction in the foreground of the second pic?

I think it's the entrance to the underground parking.  I'm guessing that once they start the townhouses that will be on the north side of that block (facing the Firestone Garage), they'll just build around that.

THANK YOU KJP!!!  The only thing that really irks me more is the replacing then/than thing!

With regard to the pictures, I was down at the townhome site after work yesterday, so I snapped a couple.  I don't have a great zoom on my camera, so I just snapped a couple of the townhomes, and none of the highrise - I'll leave that to the rest of you guys who always post awesome pictures.  At any rate, the outside of the townhomes doesn't look much different because they've been working on the inside plumbing, ventilation, and electrical.  This should all be wrapped up this week.  They did just this week start working on masonry work and installing garage doors, so I've uploaded a couple pictures of that.  I think they're also starting work on the rooftop decks because they've also get piles of wood sitting around.  At any rate, here are the pics to hold you all over until someone can go out and take better ones :)

efficiency is mentioned only a few times as in "efficient furnace" or "efficient water heater" - but this really doens't mean anything.  How effcient are these appliances?  Is construction waste being recycled?  Are there local sourcing options for tile, wood, cabinets, etc?  Are they using low VOC paints?  Are there any indoor air quality upgrades?

You know what, you're right.  I apologize, but I could have sworn they had a media kit with that information in it.  Or was it in the sales office?

Theoretically you can put whatever you want into any of the units.  However, with regard to the standard items -

 

The appliance package is all Frigidaire Stainless Steel (Energy Star)

The windows are Andersen Wood Windows

The structures are wrapped twice with Tyvek to conserve energy

The painter uses Sherwin-Williams Paint

The kitchen cabinets are maple and are from Aristokraft

 

That's all I can think of off the top of my head....  All of my paperwork is in my car - if I'm bored tonight, I can page through it and get model numbers and such for you.  Hope that helps?

When you buy a house you can get what you want.  They always offer a standard package, but you can upgrade from there.

Well, we can't always get everything that we want!  I have to say, though, when we were looking at different builders and developments, what Zaremba offers standard in the Avenue District is definitely better than anything else we saw, both in terms of energy savings and looks.  Besides the standard package though, Zaremba gives much more freedom to customize than other developments.  A lot of builders have a room of things to pick from without the ability to go out and purchase anything different, and while Zaremba has a big studio like that down by the Q and Progressive Field, they A. have many many more options than most, and B. pretty much allow you to buy anything you want if you don't see something you like there.  Now, because they are condo communities with shared infrastructure, the buyers are not allowed to move walls or have a say in exterior materials, but as far as things beyond the walls go, if you've got the money, it can definitely be spent!

Construction crews have started to install windows. I noticed this last week, but it doesn't look like they made any progress between last Thursday and today. Still, good to see the building progressing.

Haha, I'm chill, I was just getting kinda bored and easily distracted while making a powerpoint.
