March 21, 200718 yr left out the Nationwide bldg in C-bus ;-( - well I suppose you took the tallest (although I thought Nationwide was in the top 3 in columbus? --- Actually, isn't the workers comp bldg, nationwide, aep, and the courthouse roughly the same height?) Anyway, fun to see - thanks for the post =) Aren't all the 'skyscrapers' in downtown columbus pretty much the same height anyway?
March 22, 200718 yr I like it viewed from the Southeastern neighborhoods, though Key,BP, and the At&t building seem to bleed together. From the courthouse to the Rhodes tower Sorry about the power lines Are those power lines or contrails? :-D
March 22, 200718 yr "Philly has never been that much of a skyscraper city." I'm not sure why you would suggest that - after they lifted the height restriction in Philly, they built quite a few towers (over 500 ft.). Prior to that, they still had a healthy amount. "Philly's skyline is unimpressive." Riiiight - keep in mind this image doesn't show the newly constructed Comcast Center which is taller than Key Tower - photo from phillyskyline.com: Also from phillyskyline.com - with the Comcast Center under construction: clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
March 22, 200718 yr Mayday, has Comcast officially passed Key in height? I'm gonna milk that "Tallest between" title until the last second! :-D
March 22, 200718 yr I'm speaking from my personal experience. It just feels nasty. and really unbalanced, which normally I think is a good thing.
March 22, 200718 yr aww you guys arent playing the game. i still say the closest clevcolnati looks like in real life is philly....unless anyone can pick a skyline that is a better match.
March 23, 200718 yr If you really put all big three Ohio cities' skylines together, it would easily be the 3rd greatest downtown area in the country - only behind Chicago and NY - Philly, although I really like Philly, would be dwarfed by all three Ohio cities put together - the picture of all skylines combined leaves out quite a few bldgs. and makes quite a few look pretty small too - In real life it would be rather overwhelming - And from recent memory - the population would show that too - city proper would be something like 1.6 million with a metro area of approx. 6 million - That would make the city proper something like the 4th largest and the metro area somewhere around 4th or 5th too -
March 23, 200718 yr Mayday, has Comcast officially passed Key in height? I'm gonna milk that "Tallest between" title until the last second! :-D You can alway reframe the ranking for Key -- tallest between Chicago and the EAST COAST. Sounds even more impressive that way! The pictures of Philly's skyline don't look that impressive. As someone else said, the angle can mean a lot. I think these views are more impressive... March 23, 200718 yr sort of like this picture off of this site...this is a GREAT angle of Cleveland...(not sure how to properly post pictures yet on here...thats why I haven't posted my own thread yet...not well versed on how to post pics)

I think these views are more impressive... not to mention the view or angle of murray's all ohio city. it lines all the buildings up pretty much in a row, chicago or columbus style. philly's skyline is more centralized and organic, which makes comparisons kind of tricky. oh well its fun. if anybody thinks clevcolnati looks more like some other city than philly i'm all ears. boston is out. denver or dallas? no. seattle? naah. if not philly then that leaves only ny or chi.
March 23, 200718 yr I'd say Atlanta, but Atlanta has all those gaps betweeen midtown, downtown and Buckhead. Maybe Miami as its spread out over a distance and sort of linear. Houston and Dallas are like Philly so they are out maybe there is just nothing that can compare :?
August 22, 200717 yr I'm just posting to bump this to the front. It might be a good jumping off point for the design the logo contest.
August 22, 200717 yr If anyone needs any of my skill (or lack of) let me know. Besides, I think MayDay is the matter of design around here anyway.
August 22, 200717 yr I'm just posting to bump this to the front. It might be a good jumping off point for the design the logo contest. I don't think that would be appropriate. UrbanOhio is about all Ohio cities, large and small. In fact, Chris told us at the Dayton meet that one of the deciding factors for starting the site was that there wasn't/isn't a site for Ohio's small and midsize cities. The big C's all have numerous. I could see a skyline outline with unidentifiable buildings being incorporated, however.
