Posted March 14, 200718 yr In celebration of the first day where temps were high (we hit 70 degrees) and skies were blue: This small alley is called Theresa Court - no idea who she was... The Board of Education building's awesome light fixtures: Okay, these pedestrians were actually flown in for the photos - I had to pay them each a dollar ;-) Even under construction, there were a lot of people out on Euclid. Fyi - for those who are interested, Vivo was open for lunch (aka they've reopened after the kitchen fire): Nice details on the Arcade's Euclid Avenue tower: More pedestrians! Fire escape, anyone? At one point the building with the fire escapes might have been considered tall... East 4th Street: Prospect Avenue: I had to pay extra for the dog-walking pedestrian ;-) Landmark Office Towers: The penthouse units of the Park Building in the foreground (right side) will have awesome views of Public Square: Public Square was definitely hopping: Reflections, anyone? Bank signage, anyone? Pedestrians on East 9th: And in celebration of the first day the S.O. could put the top down on the convertible :-D Looking south on East 9th Street: Tower at Erieview and AT&T Lakeside: Looking south, this time on West 9th: Cornices for everybody! Terminal Tower plays peek-a-boo: I held the camera backward, and hoped I'd get a decent shot... not too shabby! Hope you enjoyed! clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
March 14, 200718 yr Yay pedestrians! And you didn't even have to use the zoom to make it seem like there were even more of them! BTW, the sidewalks along East 9th Street (er, Rock & Roll Boulevard) ought to be widened. Sometimes you have to squeeze past the light/utility poles. March 15, 200718 yr Pedestrians? In the Midwest? That's unpossible! was that episode on re-run today?
March 15, 200718 yr I'm reminded of a favorite Onion story... Area Students Prepare Breasts For Increased Springtime Display Female college students from across the northern U.S. celebrated the improved weather this week, preparing their breasts for the increased exposure and display that the warm weather now demands. For the last several months, the students' breasts have existed only in the imaginations and fond memories of others, obscured by baggy sweaters, bulky ski jackets, and shapeless flannel...
March 15, 200718 yr Yay for sunny, warm days! I got my bike out today, pumped up the tires and took a ride. I rode in the sun to a meeting downtown, and rode home in a downpour!
March 15, 200718 yr Who's gonna send this photo montage to Jennifer Hunter (at the Chicago Sun-Times)? Great shots MayDay! Is that actual work I see being done in the Bar One space on Superior?
March 15, 200718 yr ^ Exactly what I was thinking... and so much for the debate if there are more pedestrians when it is 70 degrees vs. 30!!
March 15, 200718 yr No - really guys - those are all my co-workers, and I paid them to walk around like that! clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
March 15, 200718 yr Yay for sunny, warm days! I got my bike out today, pumped up the tires and took a ride. I rode in the sun to a meeting downtown, and rode home in a downpour! Could have been worse. Could have happened the other way around! No - really guys - those are all my co-workers, and I paid them to walk around like that! Don't let Penton hear you say that!! March 17, 200718 yr Where is Bar One? Is that the place seen to the right of the entrance to the Leader Building? "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
March 17, 200718 yr ****Jerk Alert****** While I love the pictures...one bone of contention. It is something that erks me. St. Paddy's day, not St. Patty's day. Patty is a girl, Paddy is a boy. Please don't give me a two month time out, PLEASE. If you get really mad think of how all of those firemen marching in the parade will fill you with civic pride. :-D P.S. Don't get me started on green beer! *******Jerk alert has ended***********************
