Hello.  I am currently in the market for a home in Cincinnati.  I am looking for a house (not condo or apartment) with #1) A view of the skyline, and #2) in a nice area (low crime, etc.)  Does anybody have any recommendations?

Thanks.

Prospect Hill, Mulberry, Dorsey, Conroy, Mt. Adams or Northern Ky.

If you do not mind me asking, what price range?

Oh, you are clever ... ;)

Yes, I noticed the subtlety. You are quick! ;) lol

At least you use your powers for good!

There are lots of houses with views available, but the price range varies widely with the amenities and perceived safety of the area.  Begin your search by figuring out what you can comfortably afford.

Yea, my problem is I can't afford a lot of the real nice places.  Covington and Newport seem to have the most for my price range (150-250K ish).  I've also seen one in Columbia Tusculum, and one in Mt. Lookout that are in my range and have city and river views... though it's not quite as much of the city as I want to see, but you can see the top half of Carew/PNC building/Scripps, etc.

For that range check out the Cooper Building.  It doesn't really have a view but it's it a great location, and the size and finishes are incredible for the price.  www.gatesofedenpark.com  You can't beat the proximity to the park and downtown.

Disclaimer: I and another unnamed forumer have units under contract.  So yes I have some interest in guiding you there but it's certainly worth checking out.

Try 29 Mulberry, it has off street parking, 2 decks, city view ranging from Union Terminal, Music Hall, and the Central Business Dist.  Walking dist to Main and Findlay.  It is around 156,000.

Also I have listed a great little place on Main St. with a penthouse view facing back to Prospect Hill and over Pendleton.  Parking is available

There is a single family on Mulberry with exposed brick, metal roof, copper counter tops, deck overlooking city, and a back yard that has room enough for parking garage or parking pad.  Beautiful home 235,000

Disclaimer:I am an agent, Comey & Shepherd plus I live on Mulberry and am always looking for neighbors

There are a couple of houses in your range on Dorsey and Milton. (mt. auburn/prospect hill) I used to live on Boal and loved the view from there.

  • 1 month later...

I've seen a few nice places on Klotter St. in Clifton.  Really cool view of the ciy.  Can anybody tell me how that general area is?  And also is it on it's way up, down, or staying about the same?

Thanks.

I have a friend who lives there and likes it, it is actually Fairview or Clifton Height, not clifton I believe

I know two families on Conroy/Klotter and they love it.  It is on the way up IMO.

yeah, they just knocked down some old building that had some structural problems I am told and more housing seems to be on the way.  the view of the city is great.

Parking can be an issue on Klotter.

^any place with adequate parking is no place worth going to

ha!  I love hat quote.  officially my new motto!

If you want a house with a view... you might want to check out one of these beauties
