Your school probably had to have really good athletes in order to live down such a sorry name as "The Maples".

We had some kid in a leaf costume who would run around the sidelines, but since the costume was divided vertically with our colors--white and maroon--depending on your angle, it would seem we were called The Fightin' Klansmen.
