no, Finnish is completely different from other Scandinavian languages! I don't know if you meant "Mikko" with two k's--but that is indeed a Finnish name. Also, there are a minority of ethnically Swedish Finns--mainly in the western part of Finland--who have lived there for centuries. There's a whole history of a Swedish "superiority" complex over Finns--this is already getting too complex for me! I think it all boils down to Nokia.

When I first read it, I thought the same thing ... but if you think about it, there could be a case here. Caucasians usually take on characteristics of that of Germans, Scottish, Irish, Russian, British, Swedish, etc ...

It means, my skin is darker than most Puerto Ricans, Indians and middle Easterns.  Therefore, I don't look like the typical Irish, German or Polish descent.  Usually I am guessed as middle Eastern or Indian.  I can not recall a time when people actually guessed me as Italian without knowing my last name.

Well, if you're Sicilian it is likely that a good chunk of your bloodlines do in fact trace back to the Middle East as Sicily was largely settled by Carthaginians, who hailed from Lebanon via North Africa, and by "Moors" in the Middle Ages.  The other major elements in Sicily would be Greek (Syracuse was a major Classical Greek city among other Sicilian Greek settlements) and of course Italian.
