I have had a couple people ask me about a possible meet.  So, I was wondering when we are going to have the '07 edition of the Cincinnati Meet?     (last year it was around this time)

May or June.

Pretty please could we have a Dayton meet?

Yes.  Start up a thread on that.

I think I'm good with May, at least thus far...I'm bad for the first two weekends in June.

Well the schedule can DEFINITELY be re-worked for the meet!  Wahooo..can't wait.

For May I would suggest May 19 but it appears that may be the leading candidate date of the Dayton Meet.

My other suggestion would be May 5.  I will be giving an Architecks tour of Mt. Adams begining at 10:00 am and I could meet up after.

Taste of Cincinnati is Memorial Day Weekend (May 26 - 28) and if people are in town, that could be a fun backdrop to the Meet on Saturday the 26th.

Any weekend after May 4 I should be available.

Current FYIs

looks like Dayton has tentatively booked May 19th.

The two Clevelanders have given hints towards June 2nd.

Skyscraperpage seem to be leaning towards a Pittsburgh meet May 12th.

i say go for the weekend with the taste of cincinnati

I don't care when it is.  I'll show up.

Put me down as a "maybe"

What time?

5/3rd bank building with cameras

I agree with ColDayMan...lets meet on the square!

^compromise with rock bottom brewery at happy hour.

I do this stupid thing where I work on saturdays :-/

What time?

Isn't noon when we usually start these things?  How about Fountain Square, noon.

Sounds good to me.

If David isn't coming, I'm not coming!!!

No, but really, the 26th sounds good to me. Not saying I'll make it, but I don't have anything scheduled.

I have to work Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  I'll still make the meet though.  It's the end of May, burn off a V day or get sick so you can join us.

If by work you mean sitting at a desk playing solitaire with the ArcGIS tab minimized

A few questions:

1. Will there be anyone underage? (See micro-brewery)

2. Coffee shop, micro-brewery (mmmmmmmm), restaurant? Or a combo as the day goes on?

3. How long do these meets last? I don't mind a full day of surprises!

up here in cleveland it usually involves meeting in a big public space. then we wander around with some aim in a mass group of dorks (cameras), after a few hours (depending on the host) some type of meal is organized (farmer's markets are good areas), then some more light touring (usually further from the cbd (via bus/personal transp.) then a break and those who are in from out of town get drunk on everclear.

A UO meet is the only time you see people get together as camera toting tourists in their own damn city. :]

they don't card to get in at the rock bottom, it is more of a restraunt that brews its own beer, at least during the day.

For last year's meet, we went to the top of the Carew Tower, had lunch at Rise and Shine, then went on a "walking tour" up Main Street to Prospect Hill.  After that, some people went to Hyde Park Square and Mt. Adams.  Unfortunately, I had something else going on that night, so I missed it.

This is true.  Bring your camera.  :)

I should be able to make some of the meet.  I have family coming in from out of town that weekend, so I probably will not be able to stay for the whole thing.

Mr. xumelanie will be attending as well.

Maybe you could make arrangements to visit the gateway quarter.  If you do, you are welcome to visit my building which is just around the corner.  I could serve refreshments, and we kinda have a view.  I cannot come along for a long walk around town, because I watch the kids all day Saturdays, and might even have a soccer game 12-1pm.  If interested, PM me for address and phone number.

I'm in again this year.  Mrs. ExPat says she's going to attend as well.

We should meet at the Phoenix Cafe & give it a right proper send off.

Bear in mind, however, that ladies are not allowed to sit at the bar.

i may be coming for my first meet ever, wahoo!  and my significant other may be coming as well!

BTW...other than Fountain Square and the top of the Carew, this thing is wide open.  So please offer suggestions so that we can put this thing together!  (I'm assuming montecarloss and I will be putting this together if ColDayMan can't do it.)

rock bottom or kaldis or arnolds or somewhere for happy hour.

I like the suggestion of hitting up the Gateway Quarter.  And it seems as though last time we didn't get around to the Streets of West Chester.

Yeah, we can catch a movie at Rave, have a few drinks at Red Robin and get some skyline shots of the Marriott and Indiana Wesleyan!
