I don't know of any dates...I'll let the Cbus forumers decide that one.  But, I want to try to make it to the Cbus Meet this year!

5-5-2007.  I have something scheduled in Columbus that day.

Well how about May 5th @ noon.  I'll leave the meeting place up to someone else.

Is May 5th good for everyone?

not for me! (but don't let that stop you)

let me know soon so I can order my Amtrak tickets

Hehe, silly rabbit.  Pittsburgh doesn't have Amtrak service (well, at a decent time)!  And Columbus...we have service to freakin' MEXICO CITY!  TOP THAT!

What about around ComFest, I think that's the end of June. That way it looks like Columbus is vibrant and hip.

What ev...someone just needs to set the date!

  Well?

I am still hoping for the 5th.

Oh, for the love of ColDayMan: please tell me I didn't miss the freaking Columbus meet.

^doesn't seem like, but I don't know.

June 2 then? Wasn't last year's meet the first Saturday in June?

Yeah, but...Cleveland...is having one on the 2nd.  Maybe late June?

Then I'm booked clear through to Flag Day.

you guys can have the columbus meet in cleveland.

I'm thoroughly disappointed in the Cbus forumers for not selecting a date yet...we're waiting!!!

Come on, fellow Cbus forummers: are we gonna take that kind of guff? Heck no! RANDO PILE!!!!

What about Memorial Day weekend?  I have a four day weekend then and we are supposed to be between assignments so I shouldn't have any homework.  Memorial Day is Monday, May 28.

Eh, the Cincinnati Meet is the 26th.

The only Saturday (if that's the preferred day of the week) I could make is June 16, but it's not a very good chance that I'd attend anyway.  Might as well toss it out there, though.

Well then, the 23rd or June is the Saturday that is between sessions, so that is the only thing that I can imagine that would work for me.

  • 1 month later...

How about this Saturday (June 29)

Final offer.....

Possibly!

Gawd, we're lame in Columbus.

Either that or Sunday, approx. 3:30 @ Thirsty Ear Tavern in Grandview (I'll be there to catch up with some blues friends of mine that I've rarely seen since I left town several years back)

this Saturday sounds cool.  I have to go home for the weekend anyway.

Sunday won't work for me because i have to get fitted for a tux in the afternoon.  Sis is getting married.

So can locust, but you won't hear me singing their praises.

are you saying my dad is a bug?

His generation preferred "arthropod."

I'm confused..is there going to be a meet or what?

  • 2 months later...

we should all go to a jackets game or soemthing

^ The Jackets? You really don't want this to happen, do you.

Seriously: let's name a fall weekend. Preferably in October, early November. I'm up for anything.

Okay folks, here's how it works:

1. Select a venue - one that offers good booze at an affordable price.

2. Make sure venue is centrally located/easily accessible via whatever transit is available.

3. Announce the notion of having a meet on the forum, one month (maybe two, because people can be forgetful) in advance.

4. Wait until three or four people respond with "yes, I can attend!", Whatever date is agreed on, stick to it.

5. Once date is confirmed, one or more people from said city should add the meet info in their sig.

6. When the event is one week away, bump the initial thread once a day.

7. The day before the event, bump the thread like it wants it; no, like it needs it.

8. Make sure one or two people agree to be "point people" and show up 15 minutes before scheduled meet time.

9. If ten people agree to show, plan for seven to show, two to cancel, and one to say "oh, didn't realize it was THAT day!"

Hey Columbus: did you just hear something?

sounds like a clevelander trying to tell columbus how to roll

There it is again. Damn raccoons...

Who are you telling?  I practically invented Ohio meets!  Back off, Blanche. :D

Anyway, I've just been lazy.  So yeah, kingfish, you pick up this meet stuff and I'll attend.
